President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. confers the Global Tourism Award and honorary title of Global Tourism Ambassador on American-Filipino actress and singer Vanessa Anne Hudgens at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace on March 30, 2023.
Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco and Presidential Adviser for Creative Communications Secretary Paul David Soriano join the President for the conferment ceremony.
Accompanying Ms. Hudgens are her Filipino mother, Gina Guangco-Hudgens, and younger sister, Stella Hudgens.
Ms. Hudgens, who is very proud of her Filipino heritage, is being recognized for her exceptional and outstanding contributions to help promote the Philippines as one of the world’s best tourism destinations through her upcoming travel documentary to be produced and directed by Secretary Paul Soriano.
The Hollywood actress and singer rose to fame for her role as Gabriella Montez in the hit film series High School Musical. She had since starred in several Hollywood films.
