Augusta, Elizabeth, Louisa and Caroline Matilda. These are the names of George III’s sisters. One of them became a German Duchess through her marriage, the other one became Queen of Denmark and Norway. Two of them died tragically young without having the chance to live their life. Their parents were Frederick, the Prince of Wales and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha. Frederick died suddenly in 1751 at the age of 44 before ever becoming King and before the birth of his youngest daughter. In today's video we will meet each of them individually.

Caroline Matilda's tragic life is probably why her brother King George III was so hesitant about his own daughters marrying. He didn't want them to suffer what she did along with Queen Charlotte not wanting her daughters to deal with the constant pregnancies like she did. While it was nice that they cared for their daughters unlike many royal parents who marry their children off young, even if some of them wanted to marry and raise their own families.

George II's genes were very strong. You can really see his face in all his offspring and descendants from Frederick, his first son, right down to Edward VII.

Thanks for doing a video on them❤I seen several videos on youngest but never any on the others! All their lives seen tragic to me! I completely agree with you when you said it seemed like the youngest lived a longer life for everything she through! Learning she was only 23 when she died made even more sadder
