Yiying Gloria Xiong is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Government department at Cornell University and a 2023-2024 pre-doctoral fellow at Georgetown University's Mortara Center for International Studies. Broadly, her academic interests lie in the political implication of China’s increasing economic power for the regional and global security dynamics. Her dissertation research investigates the drivers and consequences of China’s coercive economic statecraft. Prior to her Ph.D. studies at Cornell, she received a BA with honor in political science from Mount Holyoke College.
