@KirstenReusch
@KirstenReusch 4 месяца назад
Favorite thing is the feeling of absolute peace in his space, but it also feels a little cold and sterile. He has a lot of hobbies and things he enjoys, but they're hidden away, so you don't get a feel for who he is until he pulls them out. Have an awesome week, Norm 💜 ✌️ 🐦

Most favourite is also connected to the most surprising. I expected a minimilist to live in say a much smaller place, so seeing all the unused space was unexpected. Normally it would feel empty, devoid of spirit or charm. Yet here, the space seems to be charged, peaceful and calm. Unusual special young man 😊
@joelelechosa9102
@joelelechosa9102 4 месяца назад
What I like about it is the amount of space and being smart of the essentials, like what you really need in the end at home. I notice that he doesn't have much on his kitchen space. Which could apply to most, but not for those who loves to cook their own meals. For me, I think the kitchen would be the least minimalist part of me. While the least favorite about minimalist lifestyle is the lack of color. Although, other minimalist might disagree, but I think color choices will be very limited for those who loves color.

His complex simplicity. The lowest high maintenance kind of persona, because he persists to find a white fire extinguisher only to match the surroundings. Well he is a designer afterall. The shirt perhaps inspired by Copperfield's cape to do hocus pocus, amazing! He is still young, no offense, black is a beautiful color, but having all black color for a long period will exercise his mind to only want and use black color..?Give the black shirt some neon colors or colorful stitches or reversible colors inside. Also the pocket needs a zipper if it's gonna be functioning as a bag too, more safe and not afraid of pickpockets, although a skillful one could still easily razor out the pocket anyway. At least, the pocket content is not so easy to fly off when the user is running or jumping around. Many thanks for sharing the video and the idea!!

Including your city as part of your home is such a great concept that I don't know why I never thought of it like that! But it makes sense that a routine can become too rigid so moving houses let's you change it. I am still in awe at his designs! The magnetic shopping bag is a genius idea but the bagless shirt remains my favourite!

I guess it makes sense why he doesn’t need much in the apartment when he says he doesn’t stay home that much and considers the whole town his home. I prefer to stay home and decompress so I definitely prefer to fill my house with items and hobbies I like instead.

I love the idea of living in different neighborhoods and experiencing different routines, and his pocketed clothes are cool. Japanese cities are set up so well for living a life outside your house, with access to a huge variety of affordable healthy food and services. I was surprised he had a robot vacuum given that his space would be so much easier to clean than a typical home with stuff in the way everywhere. But I’m sure he has considered its role and value very carefully!

Thank you so much for featuring Sibu on your channel! Listening to him share his thoughts on why he keeps the things he owns as well as looking at the cool products he designed to solve problems that assist in his way of life made me reflect on the concept he’s shared of considering your space, your city included as an extension of yourself. That’s such a thoughtful way of staying connected with the world you live in and his approach to minimalism reflects that cool way of thinking as well. Having recently let go of extra tools and supplies I owned that served their time and purpose with me away to help out a student in great need of them after they lost almost all their belongings to a blaze last week makes these two videos with Sidu all the more poignant as I reflect on the essentials behind the items and places surrounding my way of life and how it’s quite beautiful in its own way to go through life so lightly in one way or another that could help others too. Rooting for Sidu’s next adventures with what he does to help others and how he may continue to evolve with the way he lives too and will check out his own RU-vid channel as well!

Now, I would never be minimalistic (I got too much stuff I like to touch o_o ), but one thing I like that he spoke of was about being outside his house plenty. Really interesting interview! As someone who will have to move in a not to distant future, seeing his apartment certainly makes minimalism feel attractive. Thinking about it, for the most part, there really only is a few things I use regularly while at the same time I've got shelves, wardrobes and an attic full of stuff I haven't touched in years. So looking at how little I use, or need, for my daily life, minimalism might actually have been really suitable for me, if it wasn't for the fact that I have lived as something of a hoarder my entire life and I don't think I'd be entirely comfortable switching now.

I think this lifestyle is possible because he's in Japan and there's so much fulfillment that can be found in the neighborhood/city. Kind of like how the other people you've interviewed who lived in micro apartments, a lot of them also spent the majority of their time outside of the home, so it does not matter too much about how much or how little is actually inside the apartment.
@boringNerd

I think technology helps us to reduce the number of things we need. Books, mangas, games you can get all of them online without any physical copies. Probably not Japan, but where I am from, a lot of paperwork are gone now and you can do almost everything online. You no longer need to bring cash with you with credit cards and wireless payments. If you are not a hardcore gamer, just a laptop or tablet will suffice. Chargers are getting smaller, you can just get one of those GaN charger with multiple ports that will charge everything. Most devices now use USB C so in theory you just need 1 cable for every electronic devices. I can totally see myself becoming a minimalist. Probably not to the level Shiba is at, but this is somewhat achievable.

I think it is harder for women to feel like their city is part of their living space because it just doesn't feel as safe for women when we are out and about.
