They should have scrapped the entire plot of this movie and just made this a love story between these two characters. Their chemistry here is electric.
Totally agree this is 1 of the dumbest fakest corniest post post post modern geek dufus warped outlook on the world ever. But Claire Forlani is the hottest chick on tv
It's almost silly how carefully crafted this scene is. You could get 10yrs of male or female dating coaches who couldn't touch how smooth this is done. Even the awkwardness is smooth. *chef's kiss*
@@andrjsjan4231 there's a guy out of the frame working at the diner and brad pitt's character motions to the worker to signal that he's buying her a cup of coffee. presumably the same guy who served him his meal at the start of the scene
Fuck me, that scene is amazing... It's meticulously perfect. Claire's budding interest, Brad's every perfect gesture, eyes, hands, smile. The way he preps he breakfast, pauses briefly when peppering his food turning into the briefest ceremony, or flattens his tie to his chest with his sprayed out hand, nods to the waitress if he can help himself. I can almost smell the coffee. That moment she decides to really drink him in, that she finally decides to concede that she was out of options, he was flirting with her and she was being undone... She relents and really looks at him as he pours the coffee... the composition of that scene is masterful...
it would've been better if he reached into his coat pocket and took out his own bottle of maple syrup, smiled at her and said "Canada's finest" , then pours it in his coffee , on the plate, and in the juice glass then from his other pocket takes out a tub of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!" , smiles at her and said "oh, i believe" then dips his index finger in it to taste
@@aliali-ce3yfand then pauses with his finger in the air, the classic 'wait for it' sign, and lets a long squeaker of a fart. And then the finger in the butter again...
@@aliali-ce3yf she was wet for only a moment then nothing, the demands of the day prevailed, not only did it get weird but he was a moron. The fart lingered, a warm biscuit mixed with burnt hair...
The chemistry is beautiful between these two. The plot was terrific but what they had going on was beautiful. Claire eyes just express some deep wonderful things then Brad gesture just compliments these moments so well.
I don't think it's chemistry. Who can really resist somebody like Brad Pitt talking into you like this. There is no chemistry, almost every girls will fall for this.
This scene and the whole film are great examples of the difference between watching a movie for the purpose of entertainment and forgetting about your everyday life, you might forget about in a few weeks time and enjoying a movie so much, you will remember in decades and rewatching it will be just as much fun as seeing it for the first time. The genuine and slighty innocent conversation slowly building up the tension is just phenomenal. I enjoy how Claire is acting rather politely and shy, but then, right after Brad says : I m a one girl guy, this whole scene take a complete turn and she gets affraid of liking him :D just amazing.
Claire Forlani's eye acting is to die for. Brad feels like my mate who sets up wondrous responses from Forlani. Over-shadowed somewhat but not for us all! Just coming in from a different angle😉
My favorite movie of all time. It's shows you what life really is. A billionaire who's gonna die that's being bullied by death, a young girl finding her true love, an infinite being who wants to experience life, A sick poor old lady who's done with life and seeking peace thru death. This movie is truly epic.
Hello my lovely fan. How are you doing nice to meet you here. I really love and appreciate your comment thanks for your love and support. For how long have you been watching my movies❤️💐💋
Funny thing...I also was watching it again, yet whereas Brad faded to the background, I was truly mesmerized at the breathtaking beauty of Clair Forlani!
Best love scene of all time 💓 it honestly gives me goosebumps to watch the synergy between the two characters.....brad Pitt looks amazing ....love when he pours the coffee and they stir it exactly the same way
Would you consider yourself to be a good person? How many lies have you told, and what do you call someone who lies? Have you ever stolen something, and what do you call someone who steals? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain (very serious; in Old Testament times, the Jews wouldn’t even say the name of God for fear of blasphemy) - even ‘OMG’? One more: Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart; have you ever looked with lust? Well I’m not judging you - but if you’ve done these things then you’re a liar, thief, blasphemer and adulterer-at-heart; that’s how seriously God takes sin. He is Holy (perfectly good/righteous and separate from sin) which means that H e is perfect in justice - and if He were to judge you by the moral law (we’ve already looked at 4 commandments) would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin. Is that concerning? But fortunately, God’s will is not that you perish. He wants all men everywhere to be saved. So do you know what He did for us guilty sinners? In self-giving mercy, He sent His Son Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life that we should have lived - tempted at all points and yet He NEVER sinned. Through His life, being in very nature God, He revealed God to men; but we in our hatred condemned Him to death. On that cross as Jesus suffered, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in our place; receiving God’s wrath. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. He then ascended to the right hand of God the Father (where He came from) now Lord of the living and the dead. God has fixed a date when He will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to a relationship with Him) and trust ALONE in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross; and God will grant you the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then be baptised. When you place your trust in Jesus - the Lord and Saviour - these things will happen: 1) God will forgive the sins that you have committed; they were paid for by Jesus at the cross. 2) The perfect life that Jesus lived will be credited to you. He will find you holy and blameless on judgement day (and now), as Christ’s righteousness covers you. 3) You receive a place in Christ’s kingdom as an adopted child of God. God becomes your Father. Eternal life isn’t just about living forever, but a personal relationship with God Himself. That life can start now; The Father will reveal Himself to you if you seek Him. 4) God doesn’t just save you from the penalty of your sin (Hell). He can save you from the power of sin itself. Whoever practices sin is a slave of sin; but when you repent and believe the gospel [WHICH HAS BEEN DESCRIBED] the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you and sanctify you (working in you to further abandon sin and turn to the will of God). When the end of the age comes, and eternity begins, this work will be brought to completion as you are finally freed from the presence of sin. Jesus offers to take away your sin and to give you His righteousness; you must receive it by faith. Choose this day if you will align with the world, or with Jesus and His kingdom - only His is eternal. ROMANS 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
Brad Pitt and Claire had such a beautiful chemistry in this scene.. According to me, this could have possibly been a very beautiful 3 hour long romantic movie with a different storyline.. The fact that death takes over and Brad starts to act unknown and stuff just didnt work for me. They had that potential tbh, could really feel it..
Brad offered to buy her another cup of coffee, and then bypasses the waitress to serve it himself. Generally refills are free, so he’s not actually buying her another cup. Then again, who cares when there’s this kind of magic in the air!
Lol, one difference between the US and the UK - in the UK: Refills are definitely, surely not free (nor are they these kind of coffee machines, to be fair)
@Velian Lodestone , there are also varying practices here in the states. A friend from California visited a New York restaurant asking for & assuming refills came with the meal price. The waiter belittled him.
There are men out there willing but in todays social climate its very hard to read people and know what is appropriate a lot of the time. I feel im relatively switched on when it comes to having tact and reading social cues, body language, and knowing when the tension, atmopshere and conversation are right to do things like this, but its few and far between nowadays. people would rather establish conversations over Facebook before meeting someone anymore and men are more cautious than ever when it comes to openly cold approaching women. Wish it werent so
i knew im not the only one who thinks that it was a shame they went a different direction than continuing on the romance part of these two... god she is so gorgeous
Her acting is so wonderfully understated. I like the moment where she kinda corrects him with "I could be her" at 3:10 and when it confuses him a bit she does a subtle self admonishing headshake before trying to smooth it over when she looks at him. Such small details that showed she was nervous and trying to play it cool. Beautiful cinema.
@@audib4309 Actually not to a new portion. If you watch the scene from start, you'll see 2 sugar pours and 3 cream fills into her original coffee WAY BEFORE Brand tops it off Hollywood. Continuity department. Hello??
I want to know who made his suit , didn’t tear or no holes in it after getting pummeled by two vehicles 🤔now that’s how they use to make suits back in Franks day 👍
Claire Forlani is jaw-droppingly beautiful here. Her sophistication stems from the fact she's English. An American actress couldn't have played this role. Those eyes ... those eyes ... Oh dear ... Dougray Scott is a lucky man. The only comparable performance I can think of is Gail Russell in 'Angel and the Bad Man'.
I'm shocked people don't know this is a remake of the 1934 movie, "Death Takes a Holiday" from a 1924 play and are disappointed it isn't a three-hour chick flick. This is one of the greatest movies ever made and people here are disappointed because it has more depth than an episode of Friends.
I don't know why, but this scene makes me tear up every time! Saw it at the cinema on opening night and must have seen it 100 times since, same effect. I'm hopeless lol 😢😭❤
