These two made this relationship not only look real but the feelings where always behind the looks both of their roles in this movie were seriously believable.
The chemistry, the background music, the actors make this just scene so perfect. Just the right touches of budding love, awkward shyness, intense chemistry, holding back words that you want to so say so bad, but just can't. The background score blends in like the perfect cup of cappuccino - just the right flavour, just the right body. It had to be perfect because this scene carries the weight of the whole movie. A beautiful scene, an underrated movie.
well said, I saw this in the theatre when it came out in 1998 and it was so majestic, the score, the moment, even the way the first car blew his horn and then the tyre screech was so loud it just added the whole effect. Did not feel the 3 hours go by.
Even as a hetrosexual guy I can recognise that Brad Pitt is at his very best looking here, cannot be beaten, and Claire Forlani is just stunning throughout the film, its a very undrated film and most people i know have never heard of it or seen it, they are missing out.
I miss renting movies. There, in the movie rentals, you could find old under rated movies. Unimportant too most people. Now, you have to watch what the streams have, and I’m pretty sure they know what we watch and have data of each one’s tastes.
One of the most touching scenes in the movie was when they first met, fell for each other, exchanged words of affection, parted ways, and the rest is history. Great film and actors.
@@arielbeaconbanwag6790 pff, mate, lightning can strike you 3 times in a row, now, that's a real high chance compared with finding a woman like that nowadays.
Great movie and clip! People often miss each other in their paths through life, but you never think about love and girls in the middle of the f* street!
this scene gets me every time and every single time i watch it, i can only watch until the moment they walk away from each other.....skip the accident part because that just ruins everything
@@davidsanchezvaldovinos8140 They are supposed to be living in the same apartment so pretty sure they'll run to each other again or that same cafe if death didn't kill him like a piece of shit on the street.
@@ragnar.danneskjold All fish have "swim bladders", that is one of the signifying characteristics confirming you have a "fish" as opposed to one of the other marine creatures. And the swim bladders purpose? To allow the fish to float. Child, if you wanted to "instruct" me, you ought to have been born 70 years ago, and studied hard every week of your life. You, presently? You just look foolish trying it on.
Man like couldn’t he have taken her number or like landline, I know it’s the 90s but cmon figure something out you can’t just never see each other again
That nervous laugh of hers is what gets me all the time. So cute. The more I think about this scene the more it leads me back to her dad giving her his blessing to fall madly in love. I’m Sure she has brushed a lot of guys off because of what her dad wanted. Now that he gave her his blessing , she found herself in that lightening striking situation and she was so caught off guard
@@John-dw6ru a dad being overly protective of his youngest daughter, wanting what’s best for her. Sounds normal and healthy to me. I think some daughters would still do what they wanted regardless of what dad wants. Specially at her age. I thought it was fitting that she still wanted to honor her father no matter how old she was
That’s the allure of Hollywood; they present an idealised portrayal of how two people in love meet, where the chemistry is impeccable and every interaction feels almost flawless. Yet, in reality, it rarely unfolds that way. It’s a beautiful lie that we eagerly embrace, myself included. There’s no denying that *Meet Joe Black* is a great film.
Continuing on to the real plot of the film robbed us of the real chemistry and dialect that would have existed between these two characters......that would have been wonderful to watch!
His characters attitude and body language would be appealing to any woman. His looks also don't hurt at all. I think this entire diner scene should be mandatory viewing material for young men who are single in how to talk to women.
yup, isn't only by his look, i mean it, its brad pitt, but men this days got to have some balls and a nice body language, play the game, not only ask for numbers or instagram
To quote from another great film: *Every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around* Don't be the guy/girl too scared to ask her/him out, just do it, otherwise you will continue your life wondering what if. Even in the worst case scenario you can be free of her/him and move on knowing you came clean!
You can be a coward your entire life, but 10 seconds of bravery can change everything. That is all it takes, and can change how you're remembered. So many people are scared of denial/failure they choose not to do either. Which in turn is an omission and a guaranteed failure. Take the risk.
Claire Forlani has worked with three of the biggest names in the business: Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt and Sean Connery. The only one she’s missed is Tom Cruise, and her husband did a Mission: Impossible with him!
When he narrowly missed getting hit by the first car and then got taken out by the second car but then the third car entered the scene...that had me floored 😂😂 Unexpected goofy comedy.
I made a joke once on a deleted video of this saying I'm in the exact same situation, I'm the guy serving the food..... now... I'm in the exact same situation, I met her.... there is a connection.... but she is with someone else.... and it's breaking my heart that it will not happen...
I told myself along time ago I'd never miss an oppertunity...uggg and the best thing I could think to say was "fruits good for the heat" what a dork!!🤦♂️ hope to run into miss ALT again.
That's why you don't do these scenes, IF it cut to the black for the last part or didn't show the accident. It would never be funny for anyone. They should have seen it coming. They kinda ruined that scene otherwise could have been the most romantic / tragic scene in movie history ever !
@@rosep4890 At the end of the movie, Death gives Joe back his mortal life to be with the girl he loves, when he takes the father's life. Great Film - actually a remake of an old movie. Wonderful acting and musical score. Death fell in love with the girl too.
