Its like Japan is having its 90s era in skateboarding where all the kids are bout it....Its awesome...gonna be wild in a decade ...theyre gonna have insane comp tricks...already seeing some now
She is so good it's crazy and will only get better! Coming from a 31 year old man trying to get back into skating after a ten year hiatus don't know if I'm inspired or discouraged lol! Either way thanks for the awesome videos Jonny!
Incredible. Thanks for shining a light on these incredible kids and spreading joy. I'd love to see these kinds of vibes and attitudes spread to young skaters in the West.
the fact that a 12 year old would think that it's a reasonable idea to throw a 360 down that bank is insane to me... these kids are seriously on another level
I'm in my 40's and don't skate anymore, but it was a big part of my life for almost 2 decades, so I like to revisit the community from time to time via youtube. Jonny's videos show up on my feed on occasion with perfect frequency (as the algorithm would have it) and I always watch. He's younger and focuses on the up and coming , but also presents with what I interpret as an appreciation for the previous gens insofar as production. It seems to be filmed, edited and scored in a way that is accessible to skaters of any generation and Jonny is crazy good! Quality.
Kai Tanabe has got so much swag! Every time she lands something it is like "yeah, I know. I'm awesome." Oh, and her tiger socks had a f*ing tail! The other kids can't be any older than her and omfg!
Much love and respect to you and your channel Jonny Giger. I hope that all is well for you and your family and friends and I hope that all of your dreams and aspirations come true and that you are safe during your travels, vacations, adventures and while skateboarding and recording your videos and going live on RU-vid.
Hey jonny I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do man. I am old skater I just started picking it up again. Last summer I watched your how to do a hard flip video and it took me a while to learn. But I finally landed it and now i know again why I love skating so much. I have so much love for skating and you give off the vibe of skaters back in the day. It's the true passion and feel of everything skateboarding is. So thank you man. I'm going to keep skating and doing what I love. I hope to meet you one day and lay down a game of skate. When I get better. Till then keep kicking ass man and thank you again.
Wow, this girl is truly a future Olympic contender and will win multiple international contests as an adult for sure if she keeps this pace and passion! 😲🤩
So cool to see skateboarding be at a place like this in 2023. Kids I've never heard of doing stuff I thought was impossible 20 years ago. Girls throwing 720's on vert. So much awesomeness. Japan definitely has a unique skate scene; a lot of the coolest stuff I've seen for a minute has been coming out of Japan. Also, was that a crooked to nollie hospital Giger threw so casually? He really is the modern-day Rodney Mullen. I say that as a long-time Mullen fan.
Dude great videos! And truly inspirational. I haven't skated in the last 5 years and now jumping back thanks to your awesome videos. Feels amazing, thank you!

SO impressive, great to see the parents supporting it too, I hope the world can recognize the skill involved here and make some great events for all the kids skating their hearts out like this. Enough with the toxic bs, time to respect the form.
Believe in yourselves and each other and never give up on your dreams and aspirations and remember to be kind and uplifting to each other and open minded and genuine and respectful and humble.
Those before lunch were awesome!.. but those after lunch..?! Jeeeez 😮 👌 👌 👌 sending it!! Some beautiful tricks there!.. and when they chant their friends on! Just as humans should be.. 👌.. it's a different world out there!
In the 90's, the skatepark was a concession made by towns as a desperate attempt to divert kids from drugs and sex during their unsupervised afternoons, evenings, and weekends, while parents worked or recuperated from that work. It's unbelievable* to see families just being around each other during their random hangout time, chilling, being there, making sure everyone is happy and safe, and having a great time themselves. *Unbelievably healthy. Can societies and families be built around health and happiness? Could we do that? I think we could. Jonny, thanks for the video!
