Absolutely brilliant. I love that he really did this right. No damage, got permission from landowners, made it look good enough to be believable and it's harmless. A good prank leaves everyone laughing. I'm sure it caused a few panics from people just waking up in time for the landing, but ultimately it does no harm.

I actually saw this on Sunday evening when I flew into Gatwick from Switzerland - and it was really useful, as I was just in the middle of a discussion about where we were and what place we were flying over, and then I saw this sign - and so I instantly knew where we were!! So thank you Max - I wish more places did this - so that when you fly over them you know where you are!!!

My uncle used to be a TSA officer in Columbus. Shortly after a relatively big news story about a plane overshooting their airport, he greeted the plane's crew with, "Welcome to Indianapolis!" They fell for it until someone tried out the old, "O-H!" to which some random person answered "I-O!"

Presumably renting the land and paying for the tarpaulin and the hundreds of pegs. And possibly he had to pay the people who helped him. And for the flight to see if it was visible.
