I started watching your vids a few months ago and they inspired this homemaker with two children, to go back into education. First I contemplated teaching but have ended up being offered a PhD studentship to start next month. Your content is so uplifting and motivating and has helped me immensely in figuring out my career path. I just want to say a massive THANKYOU to your supervisor at 8:12 talking about how here in the UK students are made aware they're either private school students or public and that upsets me. Because I go to a public school that is really good, but I remember having an assembly where my head of years told us how we need to push our selves and reach high marks. Just because we're not a private school as our school hours are less, and we 'apparently' do less work which just totally knocks my confidence in school and wanting to do well as I fear private school students have it easier and have more choices available. And my school seem to just want to strive but are comparing us to a private schools time table etc. And it's unfair how British people are made really more aware of everything from society's views to having to look or dress the same as everyone else other wise you look odd.

Johannas work seems so interesting! For my dissertation (I did psychology) we looked at blonde and grey hair.. the experiment was a complete fail lol but still nice to see hair colour is of some interest to psychologists hahaha!

Annette Lareau has a really interesting study on parenting types - it's kind of upper-class private school kids vs working class poor kids and how they acquire different skills because of their environment. This was such a great video to make Ibz. Johanna seems so interesting, the concept of race across the world is so different we really need to start hearing different voices. I was recently at an Oxford (lol don't hate Ibz) summer school and i had to write an essay and do a tutorial, it was kind of awkward at first but it was really a conversation with the tutor about the topic. I really enjoyed it. Xx
