I’m hopefully going to buy a 17hh TB gelding that reminds me of diesel, except this gelding is a beautiful dark bay (aka seal bay) not saying diesel isn’t beautiful because he is, but I do love this gelding and I wish you luck with all your horses

I know you probably don't take advice from RU-vid comments, but I think Elliot would be great at pulling a cart! All the horses at my lesson barn drive and it's great at keeping them in shape while staying off their backs. I would love for you to make a video about your EB clothing line and how you come up with designs!
Good for you to keep your first horse. Too many older horses end up in kill pens or bad situations. I do think some bad stifles are from the really stressful gaits that are forced on them and being started too early. Why hurry? Wait until they are fully grown and their bones set.
Look up Fawn Anderson, she is rehabbing her horse's kissing spine and is an amazing trainer. Also Lana Comeriato on FB she is a barefoot trimmer, because hooves play a huge factor as well. Don't give up! If it's not extremely severe there is tons of things you can do for him!
Jax in lots of cases, strengthening the horses core as much as you can raises their back and helps the spine not pinch. Belly lifts, teaching them to stretch down on the lunge line (without side reins as it could make it worse) and anything and everything that improves posture and raises the back.
My jumping horse Alias had kissing spine and he was in pretty bad shape for a long time. Late last year we decided to go ahead with the surgery and he came through with beautiful results. It was very successful :)
