Centuries ago a person was walking across a field and he dropped something and there it lay in the mud through thousands of summers & winters, rain and sun, wars, plagues, dark and light - until ONE day, someone found it again. An object handed down through history finally sees the light of day but WHO found it? Come along and meet my joyful sister in mud, Dawn Chipchase of ‪@DiggerDawn‬ if you dont know her already. Dawn never fails to put a smile on my face. But did she find treasure, or did she find worms and pigeon rings? Only one way to find out. Please join us for fun in the fields. What fun! You two are a hoot together. I loved the both of you copying each other's accents. Chris is such a gentleman, he was so kind to give you some of his finds and signals, and let you both down gently when it wasn't the treasure you hoped for. So sweet! That Roman Denarius Digger Dawn found was super cool! If I were her, I'd put it in a sonic jewelry cleaner in distilled water, then see if I could find a coin bezel of the proper size, and wear it on a chain! I wish you had all found Charles I silver too. I was just watching a video about the English Civil War yesterday. I read about a gold coin hoard found in Northern England recently. Over 200 gold coins from 1610-1725 were found under the kitchen floor of a house built in the 1690s. Merchants who bought and sold timber from the Baltic states had owned the house then. The coins were valued at £250,000! Awesome video, Nicola, enjoy your week. 👍😊

Love the enthusiasm, Nicola and Dawn - you've cheered us all up! I've never been metal detecting, but I think if I had the amazing good fortune to find a 2000 year old Roman coin, you know what I would do? Before shovelling the soil back in the hole again, I would drop a modern 50P coin in there, so that another lucky detectorist from the future, in 4022 AD, will be able to scream with jubilation and dance with delight, yelling - 'Oh my God!! I've found a 2000 year old coin!! I think it's a Queen Elizabeth II - a 50P coin from 2022!!' Let's hope our old world is still spinning along in 2000 year's time! from Deirdre O'S. Australia.

111 AD. Are you kidding me? Can't believe the head is still raised. Congrats Dawn. Do you have to turn in coins to the museum as well? The dance was hilarious. I thought the intro was going to be a "Charlie's Angels" theme and you honoured Chris as the 3rd Angle 😂 . I would of been thrilled if I had found that Cart Wheel penny, I was given one from a friend, they are a beautiful coin . . And that Roman, I would have fainted for sure 😂. I call your videos "Sundays with Nicola". Due to a family obligation I didn't get to watch until today, Monday. You and Dawn made me laugh out loud with your Silver Dance. Y'all are so darn cute together! I really needed it today. I usually watch you for the peaceful, calming sounds of the Thames. 😭😂😭😂🎶🎶🎶🤣🤣 I'm crying and laughing with joy... what an amazing coin find in the middle of a huge field going back 2000 yrs.. But the silver coin dance took the cake.. Absolutely hilarious, brilliant choreography with all your contraptions on your bodies jangling about.. so much fun, you are all wonderful. I would take the watch winder to a jeweller and put a ring on it to put a chain on it, and wear it. I think it is a very beautiful watch winder. ☺️And the other piece. Yes, the Silver Dance. I know what it's like and really enjoyed the one you two did. Here's to many more for both of you. My oldest coin I've found is a 1809 Half Cent (U.S) and would love to find something from the 18th Century.

Nicola, I always love when you, Digger Dawn and Chris get together. I’m so glad she found a silver so you two could do the silver dance. I was so worried when her channel suddenly disappeared. the problem doing fields is the farmers used to drink a lot of cider and the bottle caps got dropped and you find them all the time...

American former detectorist here. Was really nice to see you "put the coil to the soil"! I'm jealous of you UK diggers. Happily, I did get one opportunity to detect in your country, back in 2013. (I managed to find hammered silver pennies of Edward I and Charles I in Essex.) Love the "Denarius Dance" y'all did! I would have had a similar reaction. Congratulations to Dawn!

A wonderful way to start the day, I did find myself unsubscribed to Digger Dawns channel, and only found out why, when she returned, Im so glad she fought her way back.
