Over the centuries many people have lost or thrown objects into the River Thames. They sometimes disappear beneath the surface and then become cloaked in mud for centuries before emerging again. But not this bag with curious contents. Who threw this in & why? What do you think? It contained a passport which expires in 2025, modern coins, a bag of some kind of seedpods, an empty wallet and some other junk! I will of course be sending the passport to the passport office, and the coins I am adding to the Thames Charity box. What would you have done?
There are plenty of other mudlarking finds in this video and many of them I could do with your help with. There is a badge with some letters on it which Id love to know more about, some three holed buttons and an old plaque, presumably military.
If you would like to try mudlarking then you need a permit from the Port of London Authority. You can find the details here:-
www.pla.co.uk/...
In this video you will also find out who has won the Thames glass fish from the giveaway back in December.
Thank you everyone for your valuable support in the form of comments and emails and the like. It is truly appreciated.
Take care and see you soon.
