An apology, that’s what people in power across all sectors face when they let’s just say “break the law.” But the average American citizen faces the harshest (real) justice system. So he thinks that an insincere apology is going to just make everything okay - insulting to the families. Nothing to show they’ve corrected the problems, fired the people responsible and are working to make sure it never happens again. No private jets, no other aircraft that have not been highlighted as being dangerous. I believe this would immediately incentivize the company to make better choices.

Are these fines tax deductible? Corporations, with a duty to maximize profits for the shareholders, will NEVER do what is best for the public, no matter what they say at a hearing or anywhere else.
