Meet Nymwen the Necromancer 

She's absolutely fantastic, and would be perfect for some kind of low-key antagonist/villain, who players first think is just some haughty and prideful wizard NPC. The fact that she's basically an obsessed stalker of someone who is long dead, has a large chance of not reciprocating her feelings, and might even have had their own love/spouse really hammers home that despite her high intellect, she's not very self reflective, or thinks things through long term.

Wonder how Ayana would feel if Nymwen ever succeeded at bringing her back.

I think she’d be a great quest giver for the party, seeming to be a wealthy fan of Ayana, asking the party to retrieve lost volumes or objects owned by the poet. The last two of these quests are more nefarious, stealing from Alana’s descendants and maybe a bone from her crypt, which is when she reveals she wants to resurrect ayana

Gotta say, I really love that backstory concept, falling in love with the author. That's a real twist on necromancers

She feels like a perfect villain to put up against one of my favorites. Vinx is a halfling crime lord who rose to power by doing favors. Raised by a family of poor inn workers he wanted to craft a comfy life for his family and got corrupted by how easy it was to make money loan sharking. I could see the two of them trying to overthrow a town from opposite sides, and therefore causing chaos that a party of PCs would have to deal with.

Please make more POV videos and other character building stuff! As a newbie I find it really helpful!

She's a npc for a tragedy Love her

I like to think that Ayana is based on Sappho, the famous greek lesbian poet. (It makes sense to me)

I used her in a game... she convinced the party to take her to the crypt... they resed the poet only to find the poet was a con... plagiarizer.

I love it Ginny. If I ever get the chance to dm again your NOCs would be awesome. I did have an unlikely couple of NPCs I liked. An 8ft tall Minotaur Gladiator and a 3.5 ft tall Gnome Artificer/Alchemist. Some how they made it work.

Just seeing a scholarly-character-with-interesting-twist makes me want to go ham and make several dnd characters right now

I definitely wanna add her to my game, and make it so if someone dies after we are 75% of the way done, we can pay her a ton to revive them (like 10,000 gold pieces) Any other DMs can use my idea for her too

Reminds me of a villain I came up with a while back. A necromancer with split personality disorder. One personality is the kind young princess, maybe around 17 ish. She wasn't born into royalty, but rather adopted by the royal family after her parents died in a fire when she was 7 years old. She has no other family to speak of. Whilst her new family treated her with love and compassion, they just couldn't fill the void in her heart left by her parents. So she began studying necromancy in secret to try to bring them back. Over the course of her research, she discovered an ancient artifact. The skull of necromar, a lich who was slain centuries ago. The skull still contains a vast amount of necrotic power. However, the skulls cursed influence caused her mind to split, giving way to her other persona, the daughter of death. The daughter of death wishes to reunite the skull with it's body, and revive necromar. She thinks she's in charge, but it's the skull manipulating her. when as the princess, her eyes are green, when as the daughter of death, her eyes are yellow. She wears a skull shaped half mask to hide her identity.

This backstory is way better than a my necromancer's.

She sounds a bit like Harrowhark from the locked tomb series

She would be interesting in a game against the character I wrote to get my sister to be more active in character interactions. A Lawful Good Paladin that served Vecna and hated Necromancers. It was fun.

I love my necromancer she and her brother are twins but they couldn't have had a more different life where as she grew upset that her guardian there grandmother refused to share the families knowledge with her to the point of resurrecting her grandfather to learn it her obvious brother was off join a order of paladins and truly and believes his sister is a doctor and will do anything to protect her even if she doesn't need it anymore

Sounds like she'd hate my Forge Cleric Necromancer Cletus. He uses undead as a cheap source of energy and labor, he's a former farrier and carriage maker that saw early automobiles made by gnomes, dwarves, and kobolds and goblins and wanted to make automatic quadracycles that don't rely on things that explode. He thinks necromancy is incredibly simple to learn "It's just usin negative energy as power" and dons't see himself as all that smart. Ironicly he invented most types of medical braces in the world as part of his attempts to make stronger undead and has an honorary doctorate for his efforts. He keeps forgeting he has an honorary doctorate "Well I ain't a doctor but..." "You literally are a doctor!"

The only thing I could think of while watching this is how much she sounds and kinda acts like Faruzan from Genshin Impact

...so my party let her succeed knowing what she wanted...and she accidentally resurrected a group of evil necromancer hellbent on resurrecting the bbeg of the second half of the campaign.... and then got shot down because out poet was still in love with her dead husband

Your original characters give me anazing ideas for stories. I need one of two things to write a story and d&d and reddit have both but seperately. I need either a starting line (like in another universe or once upon a tine or centuries before our day) or a character or two. I write stories for my own enjoyment and rarely share them with others but i still like to ask for permission to use characters. I know you said people can add your character as a d&d npc but can i use her to write a story?
