Absolutely! Spencer Jones really does have that gladiator spirit-his energy and skill on the field are undeniable. His rise through the ranks is going to be thrilling to follow. What do you think sets him apart the most from other up-and-coming players?

@baseballspark You look at him and immediately notice his towering figure. Even on baseball cards he barely fits in the confines of the card. To think that he is as fast as he is on the bases at that size just goes to show what a unicorn he is

Absolutely, Spencer Jones truly is a unicorn in the world of baseball. His unique combination of size, speed, and skill makes him a rare find and a thrilling player to watch. It's not every day you see someone with his stature moving so swiftly and skillfully around the bases. Can't wait to see how he continues to develop and impact the game!

Where is he going to play? Can he play third?
@baseballspark
@baseballspark 2 месяца назад
Sure! Right now, Spencer Jones is making waves as an outfielder because of his great speed and solid arm, which really stand out there. While it's not typical for someone of his build to switch to playing third base, baseball can always surprise us! If the Yankees think he could help the team more at third, they might just give him a shot there. But for now, I think we’ll keep seeing his talents shine in the outfield. What position do you think he’d be best in?

@@baseballspark The Yankees are set in the outfield assuming they sign Soto. The Martin if anybody in the system may take Verdugo’s place; besides this kid is barely hitting .210 , hold the hype folks, Yankee field position farmhands had a habit of being over hyped and under talented.

@@derjaeger3321 You make a solid point about the hype sometimes outstripping performance with Yankees prospects. It's true that Spencer Jones's batting average isn't stellar right now, which might cool off some of the enthusiasm. If the Yankees are indeed set in the outfield and confident in other prospects like Martin stepping up, it could make sense to consider trading Jones while his potential value is high, especially if it helps address more urgent needs on the roster. Trading him might allow the Yankees to get back a player or resources that could have an immediate impact, particularly in areas where they're looking to strengthen. It's always a bit of a gamble, but it could pay off if they find the right deal. What areas do you think the Yankees should focus on improving through a trade?

@@baseballspark the Yankees need a good long term 3rd baseman. A Nettles type, good glove and a lot of pop. And a reliable lights out closer. I do not trust Holmes as closer, 8th inning ok but not closer. Too much bat contact.

@@derjaeger3321 Absolutely, finding a reliable third baseman with a strong glove and a powerful bat would be a major asset for the Yankees. Someone in the mold of Graig Nettles could really solidify the infield. And about the closer role, I totally get your concerns with Holmes. While he's decent in the 8th, having a more dependable, lights-out closer could really change the game for the Yanks in those tight situations. If the Yankees could use Spencer Jones as part of a trade package, it might be a smart move to fill these critical roles. It all comes down to what they can get in return and whether they can find a trade that makes sense long-term. What do you think would be a fair trade involving Jones? Do you have any players in mind who could fill these gaps? One thing is for sure, Soto is a freaking machine OMG!

Jones strikes out to much. Talented but injury prone and probably will hit .245 to .250 with 30 to 35 hrs 20 sb 75 to 90 rbi with 200plus strike outs

Thanks for your comment! It's true that Spencer Jones has had his struggles with strikeouts and injuries, but many young players face similar challenges. Despite this, his combination of power and speed is impressive. Hitting 30 to 35 home runs, stealing 20 bases, and driving in 75 to 90 RBIs would still make him a valuable player, even with a .245 to .250 average and over 200 strikeouts. While the strikeouts are a concern, with the right coaching, there's always room for improvement. Watching Jones develop and overcome these hurdles is part of what makes following prospects so exciting. The upside of having a power-speed threat like Jones on the roster is something any team would cherish. Let's stay optimistic and see how his journey unfolds!

no he is not. Another Joey Gallo clone. Is striking out half his time in double a. Has power but has only hit 10 homers and had a.245 average or so.
@baseballspark
@baseballspark 20 дней назад
It's always a bit of a risk betting on power hitters who struggle with contact because while they can provide game-changing home runs, the strikeouts can really hurt the team in crucial situations. Do you think there's room for him to adjust and reduce those strikeouts, or do you see this as a more permanent issue in his game?
