The Navi is a great bike: fun, peppy, a breeze to operate, light and maneuverable and incredibly affordable. I understand the need to generate excitement around this model to a young demographic, but this bit of advertising seems to glorify risk-taking, and hooliganism. Wiping out on a motorcycle is far more dangerous than wiping out on a skateboard, yet the "No Limits" aesthetic featured here suggests these Urban Urchins can use city streets as their private playground, without serious consequences. Honda, in my opinion, engineers and manufactures the best and most reliable mass produced motorcycles on the planet. Why, I wonder, would Honda USA present the results of all that great work as something no better than some caffeine-laden soda pop? How about a different approach, Honda? Why not emphasize all the great stuff the designers considered when creating this bike. You can own a brand new street legal Honda Navi for around 2500 bucks in the USA. ITS AFFORDABLE! No other major manufacture offers so much for so little. It's fun and practical for many people from ALL walks of life. It's a blast to operate, especially legally and responsibly. It's got electric start. It's got a center stand, in addition to a kick stand. It's got Honda reliability and will last for years (perhaps decades) in the future if properly maintained. It has great onboard locking storage. It has a small footprint, making it easily parked and stored. It is economical, both in initial investment, and operating costs. The CVT and 110cc engine make it very nimble in city traffic, and will take you on winding country roads on the weekends. One of the big reasons I chose Honda is the large dealer network. Parts and service are readily available in my area, unlike many of your competitors. It's all there, Honda! Believe in your product! Do you all secretly wish you worked Harley-Davidson or something? The cynical (and unoriginal) approach to marketing this great bike appears to reflect a bias (whether conscious or unconscious)against the low end of the market here in the States. Perhaps the Navi is not seen as 'serious' or as 'muscular' as so many other bikes offered by Honda and others, and therefore only suitable for twenty-something punks looking for yet another completely disposable experience to augment their "identity". Many of us out here treasure and appreciate these little bikes for what they are: practical, affordable, quirky, and fun transport. I'd gladly take a Dax, a Helix, or heaven forbid, a Gyro, over a Harley any day!
This is such a terrible commercial. Nobody wants to see these weird people doing stuff that nobody actually does. Show the bike, the features of the bike, and what it looks like to ride it. Everybody involved with this commercial should have been fired. On the official Honda website there isn't even a picture of the Navi on it's product page unless you scroll down. It's the only bike I've clicked on that's like that. It just wants to show this crappy video. Get with it, Honda. Stop wasting money on ads like this and put proper ABS on this bike. Heck, you could up the motor size to a 200 or 250 and you'd have more business than ever.
