The GA Chief's must WAKE UP and MAKE sure the GA LANGUAGE is TAUGHT and SPOKEN in SCHOOLS over ACCRA.
@sylvesterkorto3816
@sylvesterkorto3816 Год назад
i currently teach in a sch in Accra here, we started teaching Ga in the early years of the school but now that the school is over a decade many of the parent have advocated that the sch teach Twi in addition to the Ga, so we did but as i'm speaking to u now only few of the students do Ga or are in the Ga class rooms because wen the option for twi was given, majority of them chose to do the twi of which some were even Gas. The whole thing is even sad because wen were young and in the cyto schools we didn't even have a choice to consider because all schools in Accra then were made to do Ga so were all learnt it regardless but now look at us. u meet people in Accra and they can't even utter a sentence in Ga to save their lives. So yes it would reallly reallly help if the Ga mants3 will puts his foot down so dat at least all schools in the heart of Accra are made to teach Ga.

@@boadimicheal4744 you are mistaken, every region have the right to teach and speak their language in schools, I don't think you're a black African who think like a human being, your language is your language, they have to start teaching the Ga language in Accra school's as it's is done before, even the president address the nation in a Ga language, don't support blindness, that former regional minister is a serious caward, think like a human being, if you go to Rome you have to do what the Romans do, it because the Ga leaders are totally disgraceful people the reason why all the damages arising

Naa Canada is God-sent and we Gas should take advantage of the opportunity she offers to appoint her as an Ambassador of Ga language and culture. Also, the following are some concrete examples about how to promote Ga language and culture in the 21st century context: - come up with a Ga language digital keyboard for computers and other digital devices if such a keyboard doesn't exist already, - Naa Canada together with other Gas to start a RU-vid channel dedicated to dedicated to Ga language and culture language and culture (Ga will be spoken on this channel). This RU-vid channel could also serve as a forum for the discussion of issues affecting us Gas, chief among which the dispossession of Gas which is a facet of colonialism. Indeed, in the current Ghana context, not only have Gas been dispossessed of their land but are now being coerced into speaking Twi (Ashantis always try to pressurise me & people of other non-Akan Ghana tribes to speak Twi and, in my case, in 2019, an Ashanti man threatened to stab me for refusing to speak Twi - I live in London, UK). Now, it's colonialism if a people foists its language on another people but they don't want to learn the language of the other side, which is what the British, the French, the Spanish & the Portuguese during their colonialism. In other words, it's colonialism if the Ashantis want the non-Akan tribes in Ghana to speak Twi but they in return have no intention of learning some of the languages of these tribes. And regarding land, it's surely colonialism as per published information on e.g. the dispossession of indians in north America and, the dispossession of the Australian aborigine. Please read on this online. - Other things that can help promote Ga language and culture is taking an inventory of Ga foods because some Ga foods are in danger of disappearing e.g. akplijii has been reported on a Ghana website as disappearing due to lack of interest among young Ga people. Another way of promoting the Ga "banku keh enomi flor" e.g. in North America is for us Gas to follow in the trail recently blazed by the Nigerian fufu & egusi sauce/soup or fufu & okro sauce which is now being eaten by African-Americans and also by some white Americans in the US. I'm thinking that if the Yankees have started to embrace fufu & okro, then we Gas should also try and introduce them to our banku & okro, after all, nigerian fufu is more like our banku consistency-wise, the only difference being that Nigerian fufu is made of cassava & our banku of corn - in the initial stages,, we might skip the fermented corn & use fresh corn dough to entice the Yankees or better still, it'll be useful to do a market survey to determine which corn dough is preferred by the Americans and Canadians. - Wele: regarding our "Wele", North America presents itself as an ideal place to make Wele due to the large number of cattle especially in the American mid West. Please Naa Canada, can't we source fresh cattle hide/skin and make some nice Wele which we'll then sell in glass jars filled with a liquid to preserve it & export to Ghana & to other Gas elsewhere in the world? I can help u implement this business project. ... Fellow Gas, please sttay tuned, I've other proposals to make to help promote Ga language & culture.
