How about the chemicals that are so bad the farmers won't go out there for days after application? Wha5 about the 6 week wait after harvesting because they are too toxic to eat?
Well I don't see any hazmat suits😂 and the guy that gave the lecture in the video that you were referring to does not look as healthy as these farmers do.
Monitor. Highly Toxic . Farmers have to stay out of the fields for 5 days after they spray…then the potatoes go into storage for 6 weeks for de gassing.
Fun video! Nice to learn the background behind our favorite foods. Super tight and concise format as always. And you're a good interviewer. Would love to see more of this!
Dnt mention the most dangerous pesticide the have to use to keep the potato white from blemishes from an aphid and having to keep them in a large shed for weeks to dissipate the chemicals. Even the farmer doesn't work any where near them in that period. This shown on other videos on u tube
Ah yes big agriculture advertisement… After working for years with big agriculture marketing it makes me sick the way they dress up a business that attacks small producers, uses chemical in vast quantities on genetically modified crops like “roundup ready” crops I can’t watch these dressed up advertisements without getting physically sick… listening to the private conversations of the executives of these kinds of businesses, and their distain for human life, and the way they sue, produce massive legal and corporate monopolies of supply chains which find any way possible to prevent farmers who wish to do agriculture in a sustainable manner from succeeding I get so angry! I just have to speak out when I see these dressed up advertisements… The thing is if it was just companies playing fair and providing high yielding crops to help feed the world I would be ok with that! We need that! But the way big agriculture bribe’s government, sues small sustainable agriculture, monopolizes food supply chains and puts massive stumbling blocks anyway they can in the way of small farmers from being able to compete and sell their products it is just disgusting 🤢! Congrats on finding business opportunities, and I love your work in general, but I just can’t not say anything… And that’s not even getting into mcDonalds and their own issues…
Thanks for speaking up on this. I didn't want to say anything if I was the only one. But this feels like propaganda, I feel manipulated, like this is McDonald's way of getting into my head more than they can with standard ads. And two videos in a row that are both sponsored by McDonald's? (With the first one not disclosing this fact in the title or thumbnail.) Not even sponsored segments, just full-length ads for McDonald's. I disapprove, I just can't support this, I can't tell if future videos will also be disguised ads, so I need to step away. Edit: I do see that Gunnarolla edited the title of the previous video since I left my comment. I appreciate that.
@Tanya B That’s great to hear, but my point still stands for my absolute distain for the big agriculture business and their predatory nature, their pollution, and lies they tell. The funny thing is I’m all for the development of more resilient and better producing crops. It’s just the structure of the businesses who control the seeds, chemicals, fertilizers, and the way they go after small farmers by suing them, harassing them, choking of their ability to sell more sustainably produced and less damaging to the environment food. They control access to abattoirs, access to big retailers, access to processing facilities, etc… I’m glad that some businesses treat their farmers fairly, but I bet with some pretty being confidence that the farmers who grow those potatoes have signed and agreement which prevents those farmers from growing anything for anyone else, and a pretty strict price they are obligated to sell their potatoes at. I just hope that they are being treated fairly well as those big restaurant chains need to ensure their famous fries are of a consistent quality, with adequate supply. I’m not saying there are not good examples of big business and farmers working together, but as a whole big agriculture has a pretty scary number of skeleton’s in their closet, and are actively still crushing all competition from alternatives, while strangling every drop of profit from farmers, the environment, people, and the government, and after seeing how they operate from within, it’s pretty damn hard to not be enraged…
