I breed Alpaca professionally. We have a heard of 40. As cute as this is, this is REAL BAD. 😢 He might seem happy now, because he’s only young. But over the next few years, as he gets older he’s going to change. As many people have said Alpaca should be in herds of at least 3. This is because without their own kind they get very depressed. Secondly, he’s falling victim to something called “Novice Handler Syndrome” . Alpaca, especially Males shouldn’t be handled too regularly. Because their understanding of their own identity starts to fall away and they have trouble differentiating people and Alpaca. When they are ready to late they can go “Berzerk” where they will attack and try to dominate humans. Alpaca are usually very safe, gentle and docile animals. But a Berzerk Alpaca is very dangerous. They usually have no hope of rehabilitation because they have learned from such a young age. Usually the only solution with a Berzerk Alpaca is to put it down. This might seem like a kindness, but this is the fault of wherever gave or sold him to them. This is going to end very badly unfortunately. Secondly videos like this only serve to perpetuate these mistakes. Alpaca are cute, and they are delightful to be around. They make excellent pets but should be kept on a minimum group of three. Actually alpaca should live with her kind, you know when the time comes, this animal behaviour will change... They will find their own kind. Miss them they have also feelings they want a family too. Not a human but an alpaca

It doesn't matter how much you love it or attention you give it alpacas have to be with their own kind. Scientific fact.

This is the most adorablest thing I've seen. I hope I never need to take in an alpaca in need because they should not be in need but if there is one then I want to take care of it.

Wait, they couldn't 'set him free in his natural habitat'? Well, maybe that's because he's an alpaca, a purely domesticated species. There are no wild alpacas; there is no 'natural habitat' save for a managed herd.

There are no wild alpacas, you can't "release them into their natural habitat", they're domesticated animals.

What do you guys do with his hair - spin a yarn and knit an alpaca sweater? For him to wear when he's freshly shaved?
