To me based on his story it seems he used his size as a crutch and never managed to lose enough weight to actually be useful
@bobfishnut
@bobfishnut 4 года назад
@@vxIKAMIKAZEIxv maybe a school or two used Jr.! Probably went both ways. Wish he'd taken care of himself more and others would have helped him more. Be cool to have seen him make it! Seems he's not going to give up beingfinal year. He didn't even start playing any sport till H.S. Protesters refused to let him play. Family knew nothing about football. Delayed learning and physical fitness set his progress and performance way back. H.S. and Jr.College injuries and play probably added to it all. There's also an amount of psychological stress that probably attributed to the lack of development. I mean not having good grades or a support system for such a young player and limited skills is probably as depressing as all hell. A lack of coaching and training program probably also hindered his development, time window and opportunity....doors begin to close quickly after high school. He probably was told at best take care academically and go get a good job in his sophomore year or junior year in Jr. College. He probably responded to that by transferring near home as that seemed reasonable enough. Sad.

Props for his determination , that weight he’s carrying is causing havoc to his legs. If he wants to get into LE after graduation he’d probably have to get down to 350 just to pass physical. The HS he played for has a good oline coach BUT, it’s not a football school they went on a 20plus game losing streak despite a enrollment of 4,000 kids. Norco could have got him right all their o linemen are usually 300plus & get DI offers.

I pray that this young man will be successful no matter what he chooses too do with his life. However, one must weigh the negatives with the positives. If I had a son playing football in high school right now and his position was too oppose this young man's position, I would with draw him from that game out of fear he could be severely injured. 350 pound "boys" do not play football against 185 to 225 pound boys. This young man obviously wouldn't hurt anyone. He is a true gentle giant, but he is very heavy and very tall. Placing opposing players at great risk. Even if he didn't intend too hurt anyone, the fact is, chances cannot and should not be taken. Now, if he lost 150 to 175 and he was taught restraint and proper techniques in handling his imposing size, he could see limited action, but it must be done safely. Plus the opposing team's must not over estimate or under estimate his true desires. Playing football today is extremely competitive. If this young man shows patience and he is mentored correctly, he'll have his pick of NFL teams. Personally, I like to see him play for my team, the Cowboys, but I don't get too make such decisions. His parents, his mentor, his schools etc must all understand, he must be given the respect of choice. If he decides to become a Chef or a construction worker, that is his choice, but he must be allowed such choices. Again, I wish him well. He seems like such a nice young man with a big heart.🏈⛪

I give hima load if credit for learning something with every experience and who is to say there is not a pro team that would take a shot at a needed size and positional player! Special Teams that tells me his potential is more than even he may know or think! That is the truth. If he wanted it enough to commit he could be 350 and be a far better player. I'm willing to bet linemen 150 lbs smaller than him outlift him by huge amounts in the weight room. Overweight guys cannot lift like you might think they can

That’s because he still hasn’t started on what it’s gonna take for him to succeed. I wish there was someone that could encourage him to do what he needs to do that he would listen to. Give me 6 months with him and get him a proper tutor and Division I schools would be knocking his door down trying to sign him

There have been a few of these massive, gigantic kids around 7' tall and 400 pounds before. They usually attract a lot of attention for a short period of time and then quickly disappear off the map. As tempting as it is to extrapolate their size into usable skill it just usually doesn't work out that way. These kids are usually pretty slow and can barely get around the field themselves. No one's able to move them off the line but opponents with any speed whatever are usually able to just run around them.

For me, he is a NT in a 3-4. Someone that large, you build his strength, size and condition him for consistent work, not necessarily explosive power. He only needs to get occasional pressure and consistently forcing the line of scrimmage back

I said the same thing when the News did a segment on him in high school, he stands out, he’s bigger than kids in high school but on any other level he would struggle, he’s to too too heavy and that weight will hold back his athleticism and give him injuries... He’s a tall kid with excessive fat. Only way is to get down to at least 350 if he wanted to play but that isn’t even for sure.
