Castiel plays the evil leviathans so well I love the ending of him laughing after saying "this is going to be fun"

I really like this episode, I remember being so shocked when I first saw it, specially at the ending... the fandom was freaking out when this aired. Misha seemed to be having a lot of fun with that last scene.

Loved this episode and your reaction to it. Back in the day I used to read a lot of fanfic, and the one I've always wanted to read was from the Doc or his wife's POV. Just imagining their thoughts while the 'break in' was happening, or them trying to tell the cops what happened.

I always forget how good the season started 🤣

Misha Collins has to play so many different versions of Castiel, it's quite astonishing to think about.

Season 7 is fantastic and the Leviathans are worthy villains.

I disagree with you saying Deaths appearances are devalued or he appears too much. It might be just because you are binge watching it, but he only has only appeared a few times and they are seasons apart. I do agree he is a great chracter and actor tho he fits the role perfectly. And I think the frequency he appears is just right.

The reason we're given for Castiel's abandonment of Dean in Purgatory is that he believed it was better that he get as far away as possible in order not to attract monsters toward the human, something which happened anyway and caused Dean to depend on the help of Benny, a vampire, instead. Of course, the true reason was that Castiel, as an angel, is just too powerful to be paired up with a Winchester on a hunt of any kind, unless he has his powers weakened by some gimmick or another. Unfortunately, this problem affects the character for the rest of the seasons and at times is all too obvious. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I do enjoy your pondered reviews very much, Eric. Looking forward to the next one. :)

Season 7 is awesome

after watching Supernatural over and over, I've grown fond of this season compared to others.

Regarding the "monster of the week episodes", I think something Supernatural could have done better is having much more interesting one-off characters with supernatural problems. There is so, so many stories you can tell using supernatural elements. Ghosts are obvious, but consider something like sirens and djinns too, exploring different people's most intense longings. There is so many stories you can tell with shapeshifters too. The importance just has to be not on what monster it is and how to fight it, but on the people affected by the monsters. The episode focusing on Jimmy Novak and his family's experience encountering an angel is fantastic exactly because it explores how the people are affected by it. I would love to have had so many more episodes like that!

This may be only interesting to me... but this is the season that you start to notice Jared's weight change. Since around end of season 3 he's been getting bigger and bigger (partially due to a Hercules audition). But starting in between 6/7 he stopped pumping some much. If you look at a pic from season 6 and then to season 8 its almost like a different person

I similarly found myself more invested in MotW episodes than in the seasonal arcs from 5 onwards and 7 in particular was one I wasn't at all fond of during its original run, but I've since softened my opinions on it

It was great seeing death again and I really love the conversation between him and castiel

I really wish Cas had been "God" for maybe half a season, more gradually sliding into villainous territory. Maybe Cas could have kept Heaven in check using his newfound power, attempting to convert his siblings away from Raphael's ideas, only to find himself running out of time, and growing more and more desperate, perhaps feeling driven to more extreme measures that would put him at odds with the brothers. Could be a Cas-focused storyline taking predominantly place in Heaven, while the brothers do more "monster of the week" style episodes on Earth, with occasional overlaps. The mid-season final could then be the devastation of Heaven, Cas killing hundreds of his siblings to precent the restarting of the apocalypse out of desperation. I find a lot of potential in Castiel immediately following the apocalypse. Castiel opposed Heaven, and God brought him back twice. This should be a huge, huge thing in Heaven. The angels have followed "the Plan" for so long, trusted in that blindly, followed the Archangels, their older siblings, Michael and Raphael. And suddenly opposing "the Plan" and their hierarchy seems to grant the rebel Castiel the favour of God? So much more could have been done with this! Cas could have gone from being the new Messiah to the new Lucifer in the eyes of Heaven, wrecking devastation on Heaven to protect the humans he has grown to care so much for. Lucifer rebelled because he resented their father's love of his newest creation, Castiel rebelled because of love for their father's creation, but both brought pain and destruction to their family and home. I just adore the potential parallels that could be explored here, and how this would impact Heaven moving forward. Thanks for your great reaction, looking forward to seeing more!

This is one of the best episode in this season I will say that. And Leviathan Cas is literally my favorite beside other versions of Cas.

love Death, and thought this was a great season opener after a not as great last season finale. Look forward to you watching this season.

Basically they did the worst thing possible by weakening Castiel, oh well xD

I am a very religious person and I agree completely about those who use religion to hurt and control others. It#s blasphemous. My God is very clear that I should respect and defend the free will of others and if God hates gay people, why did He make so many of them? My God loves rainbows.

I know s7 is not fan favourite but I absolutely love it & it's one of my favourite season 😍 Enjoy 😉

Time for my favorite season....season 7

NO SPOILERS: i would like to report ive finished the series few days ago😂🤷🏻‍♀️ and...well it was sad , i was enjoying the series alot. i didnt exactly love the ending cause they did try to fully wrap it up in a way that i dont think was necessary. but then again, most series ive watched didnt have an ending that i loved so...meh

i'm in the same boat on belief. As far as i'm concerned live and let live. no one has the right to make others live according to their hatred for people who are different than them. if you don't like homosexuality don't do it but you cant tell someone else that they cant. its like if i hate fish for instance, doesn't mean no one anywhere is allowed to eat seafood if I don't like it. i know that's very simplistic thinking but to me this is a simple thing, you cant tell others how to live their lives as long as they aren't hurting other people.

4:30 I really wish you would stop reading the credits... Ruins the reaction for me and I can't be the only one?

Is this when a new writer tookover ? Just wondering consdering the whole political crusade Cass was on this episode.
