the start button is definitely a step back compared to the old-school key on the left side or the indicated key wich you could turn as in the 992.1

No digital speedometer and the ridiculous start stop button screams VW unfortunately. Very disappointing to see. Why they would change the two things they get the most compliments for is baffling to me.

I feel like the interior really took a step back this year, I love the exterior and drivetrain changed, but the digital tach, push start, and red button on the drive mode dial just aren’t it for me personally. Most likely never going to be able to afford one so it doesn’t really matter but still cmon bruh😭

I'm so happy I just received my 2024 Carrera S manual transmission after seeing this video.

This is why you have a a sub. Seen a few of these and I never finish them. But you sir always have great footage with music to boot. Keep up the good content. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get my own Porsche.

Instead of removing the analog rev counter and the physical key, they should have renewed the gear lever!

While the update of the GTS looks like a great technological achievement, the base Carrera does not really benefit of any progress. I am also not convinced by some of the design changes like the cheap looking hood or the full digital dashboard. Front looks nicer then before. Overall 992.1 owners can be quiet happy because this car will not really hurt the resell value of the predecessor.

Great video, Luke. I’ve been watching for a while, and I don’t remember you doing a walkaround with a manufacturer like this before; is this the first? Glad your channel is getting this kind of notice from an OEM. Edit: I’m now remembering a manufacturer intro that you were on where you met with Sam from Seen Through Glass… I think.

The complexities of the engineering in this car is beyond amazing. I just can’t image anyone being brave enough to own one outside of warranty.

Watched the Autgefühl vid and the TopGear one too. This is by far the most interesting vid about the car. I prefer the chat style with one of Porsche's own people above the total independent narrative of a presenter. Feels more organic, less focused onto the presenter, more interesting bits of info to grab. Yet another grey car with yet another black interior tho. For once that grey fits that car tremendously well, in that studio light at least. But... it's just that all the ID3's Polestars and what nots all jumped on the bandwagon that started with the Audi RS6. There must be a more original colour to be that little bit less bland. I'm just the little devil inside your head to make you think well before spec'ing it exactly as this one =)

Now I would like to see a company bring back the engine starting knob (instead of a button) and the analog speedo to this new model !! I really like those on the 992.1

Luke, been watching your videos over the last year or so, they keep getting better. Thanks for the insight into the new 992.2 and the incredible technology Porsche is putting into their line of sports cars. Have a new Cayman S coming next month, hope to see some of this new tech, especially the new HD Matrix LED lights in the next gen 718. Keep up the great work!

Wow - excited to see Luke getting to review the new 999.2 so soon. I have a '22 992 GTS (due in part to Luke's channel). For the record, it really is the perfect 'one' car (although I do not daily mine). I am also a sucker for the latest and greatest ... until now. I love what I have and prefer it to the new design and powertrain choices. My 992 is the first car I keep for life. The next car will be in addition to and will be much more rowdy.

They did an amazing job with new GTS. Powertrain is going to feel fantastic and you get much more standard than the outgoing model. I also love that you can spec the Cognac interior without having to get the Heritage Pack on higher trims. I’m considering ordering one in GT Silver or Slate Grey

Thanks for the vid. Very optimistic about the GTS’s new tech. Even with this new hybrid tech, Porsche always know what’s needed to make the 911 a great drivers car. Only thing I don’t like on the new GTS is the vertical front slats - the front of the base Carrera looks much better.

1 big step forward, 2 small steps back. The NEXT .1 Gen will be the perfect blend of Looks and Feel.

The rear lights and the lightbar is now one full bar now like the 964 . Shrinks the extra vertical impression of the 992.1 rump, better squat now.

I love the technical specs behind the new 911 the only thing is that I like the back lightbar a little less still such a amazing car just happy that it still exists the way it does

I m not sure I understand this hybrid system, it s not a plug in, it s not there to help with the fuel consumption and the emissions... Is it performance only hybrid? To help with the turbo lag, make it zero lag, and add some power? With little weight to. What was their goal?

Front: „We needed so much air, we took the indicator and position lamp and integrated them in the headlamp“. To me it looks like there would be plenty of room left. But one headlamp unit is cheaper than several pieces. No, but if you need more air, I totally agree…

I don't understand desires for more and more horsepower. Id rather have a lower horsepower car i can really use fully.

So happy I got a 2023 ... I would have been super bummed about the lack of analog tact and even the lack of tactile features like the ignition switch. Really surprised the 911 of all cars is adding more digital ... I shut off the infotainment screen in mine most of the time ... the entertainment os the drive!!!

Does the fact it's hybrid means it needs to be charged with a cable after every drive? I didn't see any charging port around the car.

THis is the best ideo on the new 911 I watched so far. IMO they overdid it with the major changes for a facelift. Hybrid and start stop button will be hard to swallow for some enthusiasts, so they should have at least kepts the analogue speed gauge.

This 992.2 has all inconvenient of a hybrid (weight, complexity, cost of repair, etc...) with none of the advantages (no CO2 reduction, no fuel consumption improvement, no EV mode).

Honestly, the Active Aero Flaps are grotesque, could this part of the car be modified

porsche has reached perfection. what should you do after you have reached perfection? you remove analog tachometer.

The first cool hybrid definitely was the 918 but i understand sometimes things go missing when excited. For me its not too interesting, that probably stopped with the 991.1 for the carrera range. things like the button start, missing techometer, missing of the n/a flat six just makes this a car to me, porsche should stick to making porsches not cars. If they put a hybrid into the gt3 its over for me

They felt the need to make some changes in the interior but all they did was remove things that make the 911 unique so stupid, why not fix the gear level nope.
