"Before" and "after" can be either subordinating conjunctions or prepositions, depending on whether they are followed by a clause or not. A clause contains a subject and a verb, so the examples that were used in this video are examples of subordinating conjunctions. If you want to use "before" or "after" as prepositions, make sure the noun that follows them is not the subject of a clause. For instance, "After breakfast, we are going shopping." Breakfast is the object of the preposition. It is not the subject for the verb. The subject and verb in that sentence are "we are."

Now, explain the difference between "on" and "for". How they are two different prepositions with two different meanings and they cannot be used interchangeably. "I'm waiting for my ride to get here." CORRECT "I'm waiting on my ride to get here." INCORRECT
