Former Manhattan DA Vance says that his office was asked to "stand down" on that investigation. He had anticipated that the investigation would continue past Cohen and was surprised that they stopped with Cohen.

A President` can be removed from office upon impeachment for a conviction. And, Congress can disqualify a candidate guilty of insurrection. The bar is low to be President. Trump could legally run from a jail cell and become President. Only Congress can block or remove him for the reasons above.

t's true... prosecutors usually do NOT fully lay out their case at indictment. That comes at the trial. That's part of the art of the game. If they charge you with welfare fraud (also at the 4C felony level in NY)... they only need to show at the indictment the charge & that the grand jury thought there's enough evidence. They don't give the entire game plan. You & your attorney need to consider... worry... what they have that got the DA to that level with the grand jury. OFTEN.... this leads to the indicted person then being presented with a plea deal. If you believe the DA can prove it to a jury... then it's probably a good idea to take the deal... IF one is offered. It saves time & money on both sides and possibly gets you a lesser sentence. I doubt Trump will be offered a deal now. They already gave deals to those that might have been indicted but testified instead... like Kellyanne Conway as I believe she is one of the unindicted co-conspirators.

Yep - the tax issues will be important... taking deductions for "legal expenses" was a tad too "smart". That the hidden campaign contributions were (perhaps unintentionally) moved from personal/unlimited to corporate (limited) was a tad too stupid! They don't care anymore. Their only way forward is to supress or eliminate voting. Changing policies would seem simple enough, but like the slave owners before the civil war, they're too pig headed and arrogant to see it. When they go down I think it likely the Democrats will move to the right to fill the void. That may present an opportunity for a true left leaning party funded by the people. I think that would appeal to the newer generations as well as those of us who remain young at heart.
