There is green screen behind him so you can easily cut out just his silouette. Copy the layer, make it fully gray and opaque'ish and put it between him and the title card tryinbg to match where the shadow would be. No rotoscopy but still amazing attention to detail from whoever edited this video.

I mean, they already decided to put that background behind him for that 1 second shot, so they already made the cutout of him, all they had to do was make it black and semi-transparent.

That's not a real shadow - it's just him rotoscoped out. (They just took the rotoscoped footage, made it completely black, made it transparent, and then moved it behind the sniper) You can't exactly rotoscope a shadow. I mean, you can, but in most cases it'd look like garbage.

What I really love about these videos is that they aren't just a one on one recreation of the original videos, they have their own original scenes that make the video funnier, like the part where the soldier freaks out when he gets shot in the head and John's just standing out in the open, amazing stuff shork. EDIT: after rewatching the video a few times I realized the line "boom, headshot" at the start sounds exactly like it did in the original sfm

I love how genuinely Australian Mr. Lowrie is despite not being born in Australia, which is also funny given Sniper's cannon origins, honestly though I already consider him a true Aussie because he pulls off the accent flawlessly. Absolute incredible work, it's so fun seeing you all come together to make these and I think it's awesome how willing the original VA's are to participate within the game's community, especially since to some of them this was merely a small side project within their career. I've never felt prouder to be a part of TF2's diverse, yet ever so incredible community, you're all so damn awesome.

Glad everything worked out in the end, ShorK. The Meet the Real Sniper looked amazing, even if you said there were some shots you weren’t happy with! My only suggestion, and this is more for your sake, is to maybe have better planning lol. Perhaps set out a day or two strictly for set building instead of trying to do things as they go? That way you’ll actually get some sleep and aren’t rushing everything lol.
