As a DD this is a damn good all rounder....my best DD in my fleet

I really recommend using bey for your german dds with sims and swirzky as inspi, they excel at the gunboat role. You would've rekt the lightning and walked away with probably 10-14k hp and easily destroy another DD, and ofc your torps dont need no buffs to be good

I like speedy destroyers with low concealment and a big HP pool. My Akatsuki can go between 44 and 45 knots with engine boost active, has 5km detection and 14,500 health! All with torpedoes that have a range of 10km, speed of 66 knots and can do close to 18,000 damage each! Edit: 1.4km detection on torps is very OP, mine have 1.8km.

When you were engaging the lightning , you should have smoked up and you’re sonar would have spotting him. Even if the lightning had her sonar active you would have been out of its range. And could have had more than half you’re hp left.

I use Erich Bey for a more gunship build, with Arleigh Burke and William Sims as inspirations. That way, with all the main battery reload upgrades and commander competences I got 5,4 sec reload time on my guns, with 21 880 health points, 5.2 km détection range, 38,1 knots and 4,9 sec. And... I got Twist and Track with Erich Bey to hunt ennemy destroyers like the german Terminator. Torpedoes are just some cherries on the pie.

If I'm in my lightning, this thing scares the crap outta me ngl, it beats the lightning 1v1 any day of the week

Recently I have been having issues with dds and getting torped so ive actually starting using the real world tactic of zig zaging to throw off torpedo aim, i dont think i see anyone else use this and curious if anyone else has tried it.

Best destroyer in the game hands down. Lightning is a sack of potatoes compared to the German Z-23. Glad to see you did a video on it.
