So jealous of you mate! Matt seems lovely. I met Paul Mcgann once when I was very young and he said that I was "gonna be the doctor one day". To me. In front of an entire audience. The way they cheered! Six year old me was so proud. The actors who play the Doctor are just lovely people! Also you have a dalek! Cool
That must've been amazing, especially as a kid these things feel more magical. Love McGann and hope to meet him one day! (Hopefully he has his own series by then 😆)
For a while there I thought I was the only person in the universe who had seen the Paul McGann version of Dr Who Because it seemed like everyone I talked to did not see that TV movie. Once online I found out that quite a few people had seen it, so that was good.
Amazing you got to see both Matt Smith and David Tennant! Would love to meet them too! Love the banter they have with each other. I am fortunate to have met Tom Baker on 4 occasions as he used to live near me. Wonderful man and I'll always cherish my meetings with him!
I got to meet Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill at the same time in San Francisco. It was epic! I also at a later date met David Tennant. All were as warm and wonderful as you would have ever hoped. I have a could of epic photos too (I was dressed as the fourth). Matt, Karen and Arthur all grabbed sections of my scarf and we all acted like it was attacking them for the photo op! David Tennant was also quite ready to be the Doctor. All I had to do was hand him the toy version of his sonic, and he transformed! I am so happy you got to meet them, especially Matt, who is also my favorite modern Doctor (Tom Baker is my favorite classic version!). I have also met Paul McGann, and Peter Capaldi. I am hoping to meet Christopher Eccleston soon! Your photos look amazing! I am so happy you shared this with us. Happy Holidays!
Thanks, you too! That's fantastic, always loved watching recordings of their panels at the American cons. Was it not long after they'd left the show? I almost met Capaldi once at the Doctor Who Festival in London but missed out, though I did get Jenna Coleman so hey 😄
fun fact did u know matt was meant to play in a charity football match in 2014 organised by robbie williams of take that fame but withdrew injured soccer aid its called
This is the kind experience I would only have in my best dreams. But for you it's reality I mean you had a conversation with your childhood icon. Your extremely lucky
Glad you had a good time! Cons have never been my cup of tea, sadly, I'm far too agoraphobic, but in a parallel world where I wasn't I'd love to go to one and meet both the Peters (Davison and Capaldi)
Thank you! Yeah it can be quite stressful - less so the actual encounters and more so the travelling and scheduling around it all. I'd love to meet both the Peters too 😊
Yeah it certainly happens, but you couldn't be more down-to-earth than Matt, his mum was in the audience and he brought his dog 😂 Clearly hasn't let fame change who he is which is great.
@@SomeBoiOnline yeah that’s great. I’ve family which work in the theatre industry which means they encounter celebrities from time to time. Some good some bad. It’s good to see actors being grounded when it’s 1-1 or chilling with an audience.
So I met David Tennant today at a comic con event in Hampshire. Lovely to see him in person, but couldn’t help but feel like it was too rushed. Maybe had 10 seconds at most with him. It’s not about the money, I just feel like I’ve come away from it feeling quite sad. Hopefully this passes!
I met Jenna Coleman years ago and similarly felt like it was over in a flash. It can sometimes make you feel a bit crap when you've been anticipating it for a while, but I'm sure it'll be a good memory to have in future.
@@SomeBoiOnline Yes, agreed. By the way watched your muppets video and really enjoyed your comments. Would love to say hello to you in person If you were ever in London/Kent and had some spare time! Thanks for all the context , Brad x
Had a few weird experiences meeting doctors. First I met Sylvester at the Blackpool experience ( that was pretty normal or as normal as Sylvester gets) my mum commented he looked different in the pic he was signing and dad commented it was cause he's got his hat on and Sylvester started singing " the doctors got his hat on" (sun has got it's hat on) The second time was at the London comic con 50 th event. Again Sylvester, it was a bit sad he was walking through the crowd and nobody was noticing him he just walked past and said hello. The third and final is the weirdest, Colin baker just walked into where I work and ordered a burger. My mind was like... is it? It can't be! Finally I asked and it was along with the guy who played Davros in the 80s. I'll have seen a few other at the 50th event in panels ofcourse, David Tennant turning on the lights at Blackpool and at the start of the doctor who world tour but I never really met or got to talk to them . I never know what to say when meeting a celeb I just ❄️ freeze ❄️ Sorry for the essay didn't realize how long it turned out to be. 😂
@@SomeBoiOnline turned out they'd been doing 🐶 Hound of the Baskerville's 🐶 at the local theatre and were staying at the travel lodge next door . Sadly I didn't ask for an autograph. I wanted to but I didn't want to intrude, all he wanted in that moment was food 🍔 😂
@@SomeBoiOnline yeah!! Probably unlikely as I personally didn’t like the London comic con 😭😭 found it really hectic and for someone who was on a budget there wasn’t much to do 💀 hoping to try Birmingham tho!
Thank you! I wish, but just made the trek once as a special occasion. Amazing that you're coming all the way from Finland and hope you enjoy meeting Matt, he's a chill dude! 😅
So I’ve got the opportunity to drive an hour away from home in May and see David Tennant at the Hampshire Comic Con for a Photo op. in 2 minds about it but I feel like to see David in the year of him being the current doctor would be a complete one off and will never happen again. Shall I go for it?! I need that nudge haha
