Hi thanks for stopping in, there is now an update video. I N S T A G R A M / itsmackenzihager / itsbriclynforest / briclynforest_photography Buy things on eBay and Amazon through Ebates: go.ebat.es/ims... ----------------- ❤
Glad you are enjoying your new GCC. But if i can point out a few things for those getting a new baby bird.... The last thing you do when you just had a baby bird delivered via a flight is hold the animal. You should have a cage already setup in advance for it, and as soon as you get it home you put it in it’s cage with plenty of different kinds of foods....seed, pellet, fruits and veggies, and plenty of water. You cover the cage top and sides and let the bird settle in for a few days. Then if it is doing well, after a few days you can start handling it for short periods of time. You can increase the amount of time you hold the bird as it gets older. There is a very real possibility of a newly weaned baby bird like this stopping eating if it is stressed after transport...which would cause it to have to go back on handfeeding formula. Especially putting the carrier on the floor, where it would be the coldest in the room, is not a good idea. Have fun with your new friend and I would encourage you to join some bird groups on social media to learn all about your wonderful new friend and how to best take care of them. One last suggestion...GCC parrots really love to have a soft tunnel or cave to sleep in at night. Amazon sells several different kinds.... I use the Prevue Snuggle huts for my GCCs.
I dissagree. First of all of its a baby it would be more calm, clearly the gcc isn't scared. Putting it in its cage for a long time is not only bad for the birds health bc lack of room, and I totally agree with the cold floor part, but huts make birds hormonal wanting to breed with makes them aggresive.
And who did you get your baby from? We're looking into a place in Alabama, but it's so scary knowing who to trust. We really want a hand raised green cheek.
Cathy Westover it was a lady from bird Breederbreeders.com. I forgot her name. But yeah she had like credentials and stuff. Someone I knew bought a hand fed conure from someone but the bird was scared of his hand and CLEARLY wasn’t hand fed. Be very careful . Request video and FaceTime them. I got really lucky.
This is so adorable! I have always been wanting a bird for a pet and I’m wanting a turquoise GCC. Hopefully I’ll be able to get one soon! Edit: it is also absolutely amazing how that bird earned your trust so quickly! You truly are a great person
M7k Hi2 Sorry for your lost but 7 years is not much for a conure, if it was a conure cuz it died at 7 then either it was already old or a sickness or you were neglecting it
Kaylee Thetrashcan normally I would agree with you but this baby was extra friendly and was coming up to the cage to interact with me. He didn’t seem scared at all. He was hand fed and handled by a lot of humans.
For My birthday I won’t celebrate it unless I can get to rescue a Conure I want to save lives and also get a new bird because I had 5 parakeets and one had mites and she was very scared for us to treat her so now she and my two other parakeets have a new home and one of them got a new home right when I got her :( The other died from no one knows and I loved her so much ❤️
Correct.. It is a green cheek conure with pineapple colors. They breed all different kind of mutations but NO this is not a different breed. IT IS A GREEN CHEEK CONURE. No where can you find info on how to care for a pineapple conure. It confuses people all the time so I have to agree.
I watched your other video on why not to get a parrot and maybe he bites you is because when you first got him you tried to pick him up maybe you didn’t do enough research but what I learned is your suppose to leave your bird alone right when you get it don’t talk to it or don’t hold it then it will associate that him being stressed out is your voice or you holding him
Lol no he is very friendly and lets me cuddle him. He doesn’t bite because he’s scared or doesn’t like me. He bites be cause he’s hormonal and his brain tells him too.
Instead of first trying to get it to step up leave in the carrier for a little bit so it sees the environment and feels safe and then try to get it out and bond with it after that show it’s cage and also don’t say ow when the bird bites you cause it that’s the only way to get your attention.
Fatemah AL-Qattan I'm mm..... Have you had a green cheek? They are so so so hard to commute to and once you have them you should never get rid of them. You have to spend so much time with them and clean every thing up. Soo I would not recommend a bird of any type as a pet. So you will regret it jordan
@@lillianandanna704 Leave them alone, guys! Yes, GCCs take a lot, like any bird, but don't you think Jordan has to do his research before adopting one?
You should get one, I have one, he is 8 months old now, these birds are highly intelligent. My bird talks, does a few tricks and is potty trained. You will have so much fun with one!!
I have to wait until the end of May until I get my little Turquoise Green Cheek Conure (female) and she’s the cutest thing! But now I’m wondering if I’ll have to take a trip to the airport to go and get her? I assumed she’d ship to my house, does anyone have any information on that?
Otaku Queen1089 lol that’s what I was trying to figure out when I was looking at Breeders. They don’t ship to your house you have to go to the airport which was very stressful for me, luckily my dad took me.
Shatter Mind so mine was actually ready really early. I picked her up from the airport on May 1st. When I went the guy was super nice and handled my bird gently and very carefully. The hardest part was finding which part of the airport she (bird) was in. It seems stressful but it’s not that bad (:
Shatter Mind also some tips. I removed the top from my bird carrier when I brought her home because I couldn’t cut off the zip ties that fastened the door shut. They way this girl had her bird gently waddled out is probably the best way to do it. The way I did it had my bird become even more scared and she tried to fly away to safety (it was such a stressful day for her) but they clip the flight wings so she didn’t get far. My breeder told me to lay down, hold her gently to my chest, and rub her head and just gently talk to her, let the bird know that you’re not en enemy or anything. If you have any questions please feel free to message me!
@@landreedunn4046 I know, but it's a NICKNAME. I don't call my green cheek conures their whole name that often. I just call them green cheeks. The parrot owner knows that it is a color mutation, not an actual parrot type.
