Having done similar movements with my body instinctively to represent sacred geometry in my design for decades never having encountered this work. I am home at last. Thank you.
horosan dervişlerinin zikri.. derviş sayısı dikkatli gözlemciler için manidar! 9 derviş ayakta dizilmiş, iki uçta 2 derviş oturur vaziyette, biri ortada kolları sabit, birde meczup varki sarhoş halde dönmekte..
@@salmonjames174 islam dininde zikir var. bunu sahnelemişler. ama tabiki gerçeğinden farklı bunların yaptığı. gerçeğinde müzik olmaz. youtube search (süper zikir sahnesi) gerçek olan budur.
Gurdjeff türkiyede tanilinyormu? Ben Almanyada yasiyorum ve kitabini okudum. Almanlarla Amerikan/Ingilizler arasinda yasiyorum, kimse tanimiyor. Ama Baya türk görüyorum videolarin altinda
There are still groups and teachers that teach these movements. Study Society is one group (though they stem from Ouspensky's Fourth Way, they moved into Jnana Yoga under Dr Roles. I have seen a lot of Fourth Way dances though in London. The music is perhaps located via De Hartmann (spelling) who co-wrote/wrote/recreated a lot of music with Mr Gurdjieff.
Almost every comment here was connected with G. himself. It is the same way as the bible now.G. has become the greatest obstacle for hes learning.Separate the man from the idea.Enough of smart comments.Question youreself...not a man who is dead.Hes ideas are alive. That is more then enough.
This dance symbolizes becoming one with God and not even being conscious of the distracting thoughts that take us away from contemplation and even when the thoughts are conquered and bow down to us as a last attempt, we keep our gaze on God
The dance and movements are engaging all three centers simultaneously. Moving, emotional and intellectual. Very difficult in practice. You are training to all coordinate at once.
@Resident Zero The planets moving around the sun, symbolize the motion of all things (we call that time), the man is falling along, being dragged because he is lazy and sloppy, wishing things were fun and easy, eventually he bows down, symbolizing acceptance of reality, and the decision to act in sync with the reality around one self. ...pure speculation on my part
know thyself...more beautiful?..less beautiful?..such distinctions are purely subjetives...it's what is called objetive art... deep and really meaningful...contemplation and inner observation is the key to understand it...
When I first saw the Hot Chip video I was like "what an interesting choice for a dance, how did they come up with that?". No idea it came from this. Very cool!
The actor watching the dancers, playing Gurdjieff, Terence Stamp, is a disciple of Osho. You can find Osho's people performing these dances on this site. These dances promote focus, co-operation, stamina and suppleness, calm and confidence.
The actor playing Gurdjieff is Dragan Maksimovic tremendous actor with unfortunately fatal destiny. A group of skinheads beat him on a street of Belgrade in 2001 becouse they thought he was a gipsy man.
@@aleksandarmisovic8385 didn't his life finished so , I like Serbians, but sadly as in all countries there are nice people but also the bad people who give a bad pict
Serbians are Croats... just mixed with centuries... soul is unmarked just as love... Gurdieff woke from car crash after 5 hours being dead... no nationality woke him... masters virtue maybe ...
The dance includes many precise movements plus a random element. It reminds me of quantum physics where nothing can be completely determined. A great dance to watch.
I am just, it so happens, reading Osho's book, 'Meetings With Remarkable People' in which G, features in about 20 pages. I am wondering whether in dance, here, the idea is to work on the physiology of the dancer (c.f. Wilhelm Reich). In dance, he's working on a physical level i.e. a bottom-up approach. To answer your question: NO. The way, the truth, the light (as it were) is inside us. A guru may be helpful pulling us up the mountain, but s/he can also pull us the wrong way.
either you're non native speaker, and/or a natural at not making sense. Anyway, I think you're disputing Gs authority, and in my opinion G gave up on any authority claims when he made up both his biography as well as the "biography" of the movements and teachings. Which brings us back to the eternal dilemma, how do you embark on any spiritual journey, while keeping your common sense and critical abilities alive. Are you supposed to "try and see if it benefits you"? G himself would answer NO when he was asked "shall we try this, can we try that".
Rza is in the center as ODB rotates around him as the joker the fool the wildman...each of the wu Tang Clan are in sync yet the wildman is the electron amidst the protons with Neutron in the center- Wu Tang Forever
the man running around mimics the complexities and distortion of the human desires ( 'Nafs') and the men moving around in a synchronised manner is the 'Nafs' in its tamedA and controlled form.
The Teachings of Gurdjieff will last for ever. The closer to the source of knowledge, the purer the water. Only fools and the ignorant will drown it it! :) Very best regards from DIMschool Belgium School voor Ontwikkeling van de Innerlijke Mens.
This is a form of objective teaching, but on youtube it is probably throwing pearls to swine and some of the comments seem to prove that. I am the gibbering idiot, whilst my True Self Watches Eternally.
The music is not synced up properly with the video. Since the connection between sound and movement are totally integral to the whole idea of Gurdjieff movements, this kind of takes away from the whole thing. I would suggest tracking down the whole movie on DVD somewhere online (though it can be hard to find). There is a fair amount of concrete information available about the use and purpose of these movements, and I would advise that anyone interested look into the matter further.
highlander, thanks for your answer. "instruction, knowledge and truth" are indeed important to your head, just as suppleness and stamina are important to your body and confidence and co-operation to your feelings. A regime that sees only one as important and the others as "by products" will cause the body and emotions to revolt and criticise the arrogant intellect.
My "The hell there isn't" was meant to be a reply to one very illuminated person's comment that "there is no hell". I don't happen to agree; I certainly don't believe that he knows that with as much certainty as he thinks he does.
Spiritual Movies ? ... Just a handfull of them around ... This one contains some diamonts among the stones. But "simple" stones have their value quite as well, right ?
I’m just 21 years old i had same old religious beliefs that everyone does I don’t know how did i came here but I cannot stop myself knowing all these shattering truths it made me atheist but digging deep down into our minds it’s not normal it’s disturbing
Here a self-justifying error defends itself: I "just" wasn't strong enough. Since I am one of those who can't, and never will, "get it", my weakness (I'm "asleep") is not their problem. According to Gurdjieff, those who aren't "awake" just cease to exist when they die. The Gurdjieffians are insular and cynical about the welfare of others; I am crassly told to "just sleep on" - a duplicitous way of telling me to go to hell. Or cease to exist entirely. How evolved of him!
Someday, one hopes, that that ridiculous laughing sound they emit will turn into laughter at how gullible they were at thinking engaging in such silliness was of benefit to them.
Some people truly are too stupid to know the difference between fiction and reality. IT WAS A MOVIE, DIPSHIT. THEY WERE ACTORS. This "silliness" was probably just supposed to be a benefit to their wallet so they could benefit their stomachs.
+OSMAN ÖZCAN açık söylemek gerekirse tam olarak anlayabilmiş değilim ama sanırım atomun içinde gerçekleşen hareketleri sembolize ediyor tabi bilemediğim başka anlamlarıda vardır. Çok fazla yorum yapılabilir
It came from Persian Sufism. back then they communicate with body language to tell their secrets or saying the 260 secret names of holy G "Isme Aazam". The rhythm is 6/8 representing minutes hours days months years and all other ancient 6 based. The instruments are : Tonbak , Ney , Daf, Santoor.
I think there are some sufi influences in this dance, It seems to me the man that stands in the center is the center of the solar system (sun, and in symbolism sun is a symbol of the great light "god") and the 9 dancers on the edge stand on acute angle, the planets of our solar system, and the CRAZY DANCER who circling insanely around the sun represents us.
One last 'un. If any of y'all stuck in this egg-foo-yung are having doubts, there is a chance still...I'll give you a hint to the way out. The external world and your relationships in it, aren't such big liars after all. C'mon, you can do it. Accept the solidity of that which you never chose...ie. your own existence. Be o.k. with the fact that you are created. Surrender your silly search for 'self'. Hint: you already have one and it's looks alot like...
To clarify...I still think this is haunting and yes, beautiful, but not for the reasons that the adherents to this "way against God" - ala Gurdjieff, would have.
I dunno, as a former member of a G. school myself. I fell hard for stoic-neo-gnosticism, flavoured with Sufi sauce ala' turbanstyle. It was pathetic of course, and just as reliable, the "sly man" anticipated this kind of reaction. This is how complete the mindjob is, the constant use of psychological 'double-binds' with all of this "body-work" regimen, entrenches the psycho-soma, knee-jerk that doesn't answer the door when logic and common-sense come a knockin'.
In this place, there are Muslims, Christians and ones from other religions who looking for the answer about their questions of life. In previous scene, which is shown the women's dances ,is probabaly related with christianity, and in this scene, the dancers are probably muslims. Well, actually this method or ritual is used by muslim dervish for centuries. The most common way of these methods has been "Sufism". Today, Muslims, Christians and other religions are agree on Sufi's doctrines.
I still think those movements look stupid. Like, if the project was to create a dance that was as bizarre as possible, those movements are something I myself might have come up with. Which is why I am sure in my heart and my intution that the impulse in creating them was deeply cynical and connected with Gurdjieff's pathological need to make others prove to him the vast distance between him (and by extension, his followers - to a lesser degree) and the mass of ordinary men.
