I'm not sure what the musical term is but when the voice goes stuttery like "youUuUuUuUu" man that sends a shiver up my spine. Listening to this song is like rolling without rolling 😂
She is actually riffing! I didn't notice this until you pointed it out. A vibrado would just last longer. Riffing is a set of fast moving notes, usually short and on one syllable or sound.

You think this is showing emotion? You should listen to ANY of Meg's songs. Tbh this is tame by comparison. It's not a bad cover... but just not on Meg's level.
this is my first exposure to Meg Myers, those lyric... but damn.. the guitar with vocals in this cover is... hauntingly deep. Like the singer connected with the lyrics.
This is one of those covers that is about as good as the original, which is meant as a huge compliment. Also those high-cheek dimples are about the best thing that ever happened.
That time when the original is more metal than the metal cover. LOL This is a very good cover! I like the tone and the rich flavorful choices made with lyrics... but the chorus does lack some of the punch and power that Meg gets in there. Over all a great version of the song! Well done!
Totally agree with this comment. I was a bit disappointed in this cover, not that it wasn't good, bit misleading tho calling it a metal cover. Meg is way more metal in her delivery and overall energy. In this version, this girl seemed to be a bit too concerned with trying to look emotional, came off fake.
Meg has been through some serious shit (maybe abuse). That's why she can sing it with conviction. Every song I've heard she sings about heartbreak and revenge.
@@joetroutt7425 yes I know. She's incredible and such a survivor. So many artists have had trauma in some form or another in their pasts but not all are able to reach into those dark places and channel their emotions through their work. I believe everyone has the ability too, but it takes work. Meg has also spoke of the therapy she's done in order to get a better handle on her experiences and learn to connect.

I had never heard of Meg Myers, she has brought the 90's Emo/Alt/Indi I loved so much back. Thank you for introducing me to a new awesome artist. The song was already good but you just took it to the next level, interpreting the angst and passion with melodic voice, along with this hypnotizing heavy metal riff. Congratulations on this incredible cover and please make some more Emo covers.

WHY DOESNT THIS HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS?! I've been listening to V-O for awhile and this is by FAAAAAAR her best in terms of emotion and vocally passionate performances and it slays my soul to shreds. Or that may have been the guitar. Either way, both are fan-fucking-tastic, and Violet deserves the galaxy at her fingertips.
