Hello again, thanks for joining me 👋🏻 What’s your favourite film from this haul? Let me know down below! ✨ All my links are here, feel free to give me a follow: linktr.ee/rxbeccajohnson
This is actually really heartwarming, I stopped collecting physical media in my early 20's when blu ray became the norm and rendered my vhs and dvd collection outdated. But now after skipping the bluray era entirely, i started 4kuhd movies and its great. But i'm glad to see there are still others out there with this passion 😊 keep it up!
Omg I had no idea you had a RU-vid channel. I follow you on Letterboxd and a big fan of all your reviews on there. I am subscribing asap. Also, some excellent pickups!
Some really great picks here. Saw fury. And deliver us from evil when i was 14. I remember watching them one friday night picked them up from my local morrisons back in the day.
Lovely to see another UK physical media channel... well done on 1K (and more now; 400 in the last 4 days - your rocketing up, keep at it... I've just subbed); one day I'll get to 1K I hope, but I don't think I am regular enough with my videos to keep the momentum (though mostly through ill health which I can't help!). Nothing wrong with *Bridget Jones* IMO; I way like my brain off action and death movies but I certainly enjoy a good rom-com too and *Bridgit* (well certainly the first) is certainly a _very_ good rom-com. Not a fan of *Edge of Reason* but *Baby* was a good recovery even if it couldn't reach the heights of the first. No need for a fourth but I won't say it's bad until I can judge for myself... sequels have surprised me before by being better than I expected. Shame *Sweeney Todd* misses the first song from the stage musical - it's a deliberate choice by the director because essentially it sings the plot he wants to unfold but it's my wife's favourite and she was most disappointed! Yep, comedy is very subjective... for me, though there are weird exceptions, I'm not one for crude or slapstick either but even then you never know until you actually watch! I'll definitely watch your collection videos; I've found they're usually popular but my collection has just grown too big to make it feasible in a way I would enjoy watching (or makin) it 😪
OK but first I LOVE your Accent!!! this was a very enjoyable video I could listen to you talk about movies all day!!! I too am a big movie fan and big collector!! Sweeney Todd is one of my favs musicals too and I agree with you on the Maze Runner...to me the third one didn't really care for but the first two were really good!!
Ahhh … the joys of grubbing around in the £1 Bargain Basket of one’s local CEX shop (pronounced, of course, with a “soft” C) … then the excitement of getting home and inspecting your prize … cleaning the mass of grubby fingerprints from the disc … and the moment of glory finding it scratch free… then the art of removing the stickers … especially the dreaded round one … the warm feeling of success … followed by the sweet scent of the alcohol to remove trace adhesive and clean the case while running a proof scan of the disc to check it appears to play fault-free … Why do so many staff in CEX seem to be so ignorant as to how to handle discs? Why are the round stickers so difficult to remove from slipcovers (especially the older ones)? Who thought it OK to build disc drives capable of resulting in spiral scratches (I believe mostly associated with games consoles)? For all that … I still can’t resist whenever I’m in a CEX location. Sadly, the CEX pricing policy is not so benevolent when it comes to 4k discs. For some bizarre reason, they seem to now often price used 4k discs (and often without slipcovers and with discs in questionable condition) more than they are being sold as a sealed new product by HMV 200yds down the road. This being said, they do often provide the means to enable me to upgrade many of my old DVD collection to an HD format more compatible with modern flat screen TVs. Good luck with your collection … sounds like you are off to a good start. I think you have your priorities in the right place … target films you enjoy… or, at least, films you hope to enjoy! Thereby lies the path to happiness 😊
Just discovered your channel it got recommended to me because I love physical Media. I got the same Pulp Fiction canvas picture to in my room you got good taste 👌
Fantastic haul video Becca 😀 I just discovered your channel today; well done on getting to 1K subs 🤩 Some brilliant titles in here; love the first ‘Rocky’ film; I need to check out the rest of the film series aswell; do love the ‘Creed’ trilogy. ‘The Social Network’ is really good; ‘Burn After Reading’ was a very solid Coen Bros film; I need to check out ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ as I heard really good things 😊
Hey Becca :) I found your channel after answering a question from YouTude. ''What type of videos do u enjoy watching on our site'' So I just answered with the first thing that came to mind.. ''Pubs for super villains to go where everyone knows your name'' 😯 and then saw u like movies also, so here I am :) New Sub! I didn't know they were planning a 4th Bridget jones! Loved re-watching her movies as a kid on Video lol. My collection for movies and shows is Tiny lol. I look forward to future videos :) Stay Safe
I don't know if you ever plan to get a full speaker surround sound setup but whenever you do make sure one of if not your first test is Jurassic Park. Even back when the DVD came out it was demo worthy sound.
Mine is bc it part of my childhood n I had a child abuse by my father who is a serial killer n rapist n abuse to woman n kids since the 60s & I have 23 sisters n I'm 3rd oldest
I have most of them on dvd. I agree about Bridget Jones, it doesn't need another sequel. Also I like to complete a collection too but am sometimes unsure about buying some when I see them on the shop shelf.
Good to watch... A DVD, Blu-ray and 4k collector here myself. I've unfortunately had to have a cull over the last 2-3 year's, mainly due to the space they all take up, so I keep only the movies I can watch again multiple times. Which brings me to say goodbye to the X-Men movies some time ago (except wolverine and Logan). The only ones I have that you mentioned here were unbreakable and glass.
What I love about blu rays/dvds is the extras you don't get that when you buy films from Prime Video. I've gone to the Cex store in Cambridge, I agree some real bargains to be found.
i find the good thing about those box sets like the Xmen that have the discs in their individual boxes is that you can add the later movies you dont have without breaking the continuity of a box sets design or something like that. you just chuck the carboard holder and put them all on the shelf with the newer ones you buy separate.
Congrats on owning all the Rocky movies you are in for a treat with the first 4 movies, couldn't agree more about Hacksaw Ridge one of Andrew Garfield best movie i have been doing an alphabet challenge of best movies for each letter on my channel and for the letter H Hacksaw ridge was doing really well, great collection and video Becca
Great video, thankyou... Im a collector also, I just picked up True Romance BR, I cant belive I didnt see it when it first came out in cimemas .. working on a scene shot from the film now...
hi Becca, the best thing to do with your physical media is to backup them all up to a HDD drive, then you can store the originals in boxes in the attic, then you always have a backup in case your HDD drive fails, when all your disks are backed up, then you also have very fast access to your movies/tv shows, another benefit is that with digital media you can make a text inventory of all that you have, and also point where the original disk is located, do this before you have too many DVDs/blue rays that it will take you months to backup them all like in my situation, where i have hundreds of such disks, anyway, enjoy your collection, cheers
Can't go wrong with free blu rays lol and some real gems amongst them 😎👍 Big fan of Glass, Split and Unbreakable.. CEX has Split on blu ray for £2.50 at the mo if you're still looking to buy it 👍 Massive fan of Legend.. only watched it recently for the first time but yes thoroughly enjoyed it.. great video.. subbed 😎👍
I live in the buttcrack middle of nowhere so our walmart hardly puts out blu rays. just today i came across SAW X 4k steelback that was randomly put out today! very neat to know someone else hit their blu ray goldmine :D

I want the new rocky knockout collection 4k box set as it has all the films along with the new directors cut as well but i dont think its out for the uk i have only seen it for the usa region
I don’t know if you’ve heard of a film that came out recently called Arcadian with Nicholas Cage, but I absolutely loved it and would recommend it. It’s a lot like 28 days later or I am legend if you’ve seen those. Slightly more like 28 days later in my opinion.
Even if Iam not that interesting to collect Blu Ray, I am more into Games and Vinyls/CD´s and stuff like that.. it is fun to see other people find interest to collect to something I dont collect for,
I'm like you mate. I pretty much own all the DVDs I'm ever gonna own, but still collect records, cds and old hifi stuff. I dunno why, but I seem to enjoy the movie collecting vids more than the music ones haha
I don't see a listing on letterboxd for The Bikeriders. You mentioned how much you love Tom Hardy movies. It definitely needs to be seen. I personally loved Jodie Comer in it. Also if you ever plan to upgrade to a 4k setup definitely double dip on Fury. When it wss released on 4k it was given additional bonus content that wasn't on the Blu-ray release. Unfortunately the special features are on the 4k disc itself. There is almost 2 hours of new stuff to check out though.
I have been donating my DVDs and Blu Rays to my local hospice shop. I am not sure how long they will keep taking them as I still have about 90 to donate. I have got into Korean, Chinese and Japanese films and series. Burn after Reading is my favourite out of collection. Enjoyed your vlog
I don't know if you are aware? Warner Bros. Blu-ray discs are suffering with disc rot. Sadly your Rocky collection is one of the sets that's on the list. On the video I watched about the disc rot, they have said to avoid buying rocky on any disc format as the DVDs have failed as well. So I hope your set has survived or at least holds on until you watch it.
Yeah, ain't no way any other JP film other than the first Jurassic Park is better than the first Jurassic World. Lol, I find pretty much every other sequel very unremarkable. That goes double for Fallen Kingdom.
Hello Becca, would you ever consider posting movie reactions? As in watch the movie with your RU-vid fans. You'd need to edit the video in such a way to not infringe on copyright. Could bump your subscription. . . :)
