I’m glad of the “ha ha” sound in the Japanese Mega Drive version and they added the “all sons of old gods DIEEEEE” speech that was missing in the western version.

One of the biggest differences between the Mega Drive port and the Genesis port is that the Mega Drive port features a voice sample whenever Strider Hiryu attacks. For some odd reason, the Genesis version removed it.

Like the Arcade Version. The JP Arcade have Strider that shout "HA!", While the US version remove this. Maybe it's because Capcom U.S.A. found the Strider's "HA!" repetitive and annoying.

Shame they couldn’t keep that in the MD version but that 8 Meg ROM limit wouldn’t allow it and even in development they ran into memory issues due to the weaker specs of the Mega Drive.

It seems like the sound effects are a bit better and clearer than the English version. I don’t think I like the shouting he makes every time he attacks though.

Seriously, when is the last time you heard anything even remotely close to this in recent times? This was before all musicians used the same sound font and mimicked the same orchestral pieces from one another. This is truly a unique soundtrack that has no equal today. Literally everything is unique and highly stylistic in this game.
