This mod will make the Sega Mega Drive fully region free, allow games to run in 60Hz, and display their original Japanese titles and language. It will also allow the controller to reset the console or scroll through the console's regions with a button combination.

I’ve just looked at the website, the instructions say that you need to use the RGB output with scart, not component otherwise you won’t get colours

@Leah Rowe simple changing an oscillator. I’ve done it with mine but you’re right. Rgb provides best results.

Need rgb scart my freind, the pal console crystals are wrong for 60hz colour palette, rgb does not use the crystals and colour will be spot on

What's the purpose of connecting the mod board to the controller pins?

It helps make a reset switch on the controller, as the original is taken by the multi region switch

Ok, so that the current reset behaviour is changed.

If you wire it up correctly, you can cycle through the regions and reset the console by pressing start + a,b and c just like you can by holding the reset switch.

@@R_T_Ralph Thank you for your reply! I like your video a lot, but I wish you would not cut the video when you are working/soldering. It is really helpful to see that, instead of just the finished product.

@@Unholy_Louie i have to cut a lot out of my videos to get them short enough for people to watch, but sometimes i just assume people know how to solder, and i am sorry. I will try to add a few parts of me soldering in future videos, but planning what i film is a pain, but i will try for you.
