I live in Pattaya but this year did Sonkran in Phuket Walking Street, Bangkok soi 8/4 and then yesterday Pattaya. Phuket was the craziest. And as a fellow Canadian from Vancouver I was saying the same thing as you. There would be fists flying back there. You could never hold this in any North American City.

I have to say that I expected more water fighting even though Hua-Hin is usually a more quiet place. Before this year I had only tried Songkran in Bangkok and Phuket and I didn't exepect anything like that in Hua-Hin. But this year I was in a small town about 1½ hours drive from Khon Kaen city, and it was a much much bigger party than what it looked to be in Hua-Hin. But still nice to see the difference.

Hiya STL. Brilliant, how calm it was previously compared to the updated Songkran. A great experience. The pub in the Hilton opened back up on my 50th Birthday. 🤭 Baan Khun Por had lots of choices of food. And in general, you find some cheap beers. Your food looked tasty. Fun for the young ones. I was there last year for the first night April 12th I stayed at the Sirima Guesthouse and walked out at night and stumbled upon that foam party and soi Bintabaht completely unarmed. Good times..."one beer ...one beer."...yeah, I'm a sucker. 🤘😘💨💨➡️🇹🇭

lol! Ok but if you're serious JR, my advice? Pls don't make any commitments or burn any bridges based on a YT hi-light vid. Best come over for a reg visit first. Then, if it seems doable try a longer stay of say 6 months to test if it suits your lifestyle (+you've enough income or reserves for insurance, visas, etc etc etc.) Then, enjoy. Cheers, STL

Great video! Spent 3 months in HH. Love it there. Sadly missed Songkran but will be there next year. The last bar you were at is Rock Zone. Great rock band Saturday nights and Blues Monday nights. Binthabaht is great. Love Panama club. I’m coming back as soon as I sell my house. 😂

I had a few misgivings sitting out this year. I do have a good excuse since I work at night. But seeing your video I know I made the right decision to stay home. Especially when I saw my girlfriend come home 4 nights in a row soaking wet. She ended up with chapped, itchy red skin. Thanks for taking one for the team. 😂

My bad, or rather my slydexia lol! I misread the spelling. The correct name is: ChoMJaN (not ChoNJaM as I read it;) Still not showing up on google as it's fairly new so perhaps have the missus look for the Thai name on Google. Either way it's on Railway Rd just down from Wonderland and directly opposite Rock Zone Bar (my personal fav btw but Chomjam could also be fun with a big group of Thais and the right band;) Cheers, STL

Yes, both buses and minivans go from Morchit (but ask if it is going direct vs milk run via Chonburi/Si Racha etc)

Hua Hin Airport bus station has a direct to Pattaya bus. 425-450 baht I think. Looks like the price recently went up to 473 Baht.

@@SideTripLife thank you I'm on the bus as we speak and only fallback was I had to wait almost 3 hours for the next bus to leave Mochit, but it's one of those big 30 /40 seaters, with excellent air conditioning uncomfortable seats. Thank you once again so much🇺🇸
