There's a glitch with Fireman's weapon I found many years ago. If you fire a shot and then fire another one just as the fireball is leaving the screen, it will produce an extra-long fire shield around Megaman (I forget if you can still fire while that shield is active). You can use it against Wily's first form somewhat, but otherwise it's just neat to show off.

@GeminiLaser: 1:15: I have a theory as to why you drop really, really fast after the magnet beam disappears. Since your firing a magnetic beam and we all know magnets attract metal, which Megaman is made out of, so you are stuck to the beam because it is acting like a magnet. When it disappears, gravity takes over, thus you drop really, really fast.

For the infinite lives glitch, you don't need the magnet beam, just walk to the right of the extra life and jump against the wall, a Sniper Joe will appear for a split second and despawn, then jump out of the room to the left and get yourself back in and it'll reappear. It's very easy to screw up, but its much faster. And it's why i always go Bombman > Gutsman > Elecman every time

One trick I found is if you use the Fire Storm and press fire again while the projectile is on screen, the ring of fire reappears and stays for several seconds, basically giving you a fire shield. It can't block projectiles but you can run into enemies to kill them while saving some ammo.

Yes, I'm Sure that there are more glitches and tricks,I would just say that its the most entertaining because you can actually have glitched versions of bosses spawn, and other random stuff, it even(very rarely) makes the game think you beat the stage, messing up the graphics for the rest of the game, I've never got that result before, but I've seen other people get it, and it looks very fun.*****

I find it odd you didn't use this on Yellow Devil. Also, it works with the Fire Arm, Ice Slasher, and I think Rolling Cutter as well.

In either cutman's stage,or elecman's stage, if you press select and leave in frozen for a long time,the music goes away you can only hear the backbeat

I have not done any memory/RAM observations, but I'm pretty sure the turbofire glitch happens because of a hex value underflow - that being, an enemy with 0 health is hit again before the game can register it as dead, and the value of their health goes below 0, wrapping around to the highest possible value for that byte (255). This can only happen with enemies who don't experience any invincibility frames, since it only takes 1 frame to wipe a dead enemy.

So now you do know for sure what glitches do/don't still work in the MMAC? I just recall you mentioning in some old comment on one of these videos that you'd not yet had a chance to test everything yet. So that's interesting to know. Thanks, Gemini! Or would you prefer Nathaniel? Either way, your playthroughs of/showoffery in MM1~5 have officially made you my (Mega Man) hero. Aren't you proud? XD

I actually got Mega man 1 and 4 on virtual console for 3DS. It's thanks to you I decided to get 4, and it's way up there with 6 on my list.

@GeminiLaser actually, while that function is gone, you can still do the Thunder Beam glitch. (At least on the Gamecube) if you press Z, you'll bring up a menu that'll let you go back to the game select screen. If you unpause, then the Thunder Beam damages the enemy more than once.

I have a makeshift explanation for Magnet Beam making you drop fast: You still generate downwards Momentum as if you're falling on it, so it builds to the maximum point and then it caps of, making when it disappears from under you seem like a very quick drop, when it should act like you fell off a platform.

2:40 The timing for the very first block to appear is you climb up the latter, then immediately jump up onto the block that's there. Stay perfectly still and wait for Mega Man to blink one time, then jump up as high as you can. The block will appear right under your feet.

Either way, the missing robot masters being in the NES game are pure speculation, only fueled by the remake. Again, this conversation is what I said before (on a different video) the best part of the Mega Man games are putting the pieces together and making a story for it! :D Also, I like your profile picture! Did you draw it yourself?

In Mega Man Anniversary Collection, they added turbo shooting(it's triangle on PlayStation 2), and the shooting problems were fixed.

that's because the turbo fire in those games isn't set to max. to get the glitch, you need to fire every other frame. if it's done right, mega man's 3 shots will be bunched up

If you had the NES Advantage, you could tune the turbo to a rate where each hit counted...very helpful against the Big Eyes.

@GeminiLaser Well if you do, try using a dual layer disc. They cost more, but can hold more data and longer videos. You should also make a really cool custom disc case.

Someone may have told you this already, but have you ever used Ice Slasher against the picket-throwing enemies in Guts Man's stage when they are about to throw at you? If you get the timing right, they rapid-fire at you, three pickets at a time.

There's also a cool trick in MM1 I discovered (by myself, but I'm not taking credit), it's called the tele-jump. If you jump, and press either start or select before being at the highest height of the jump, you will jump a little bit higher while having the teleport sprite. Unfortunately, you won't jump as far as a regular jump, but it's still fun to do :D. Oh and by the way, you just did it at 3:00-3:02

On the Magnet Beam screen, I've cloned the pick-up blocks somehow. I picked up the block, spun around and the one I picked up was still there! I haven't been able to do it again though.

Does that Select pausing trick thing you did with Thunder Beam on Ice Man (and more commonly for most folks, Thunder Beam on the Rock Mo...er, Yellow Devil, ahem) also work on Mega Man Anniversary Collection? I mean the 8 games on it are supposed to basically be direct ports, I think, so... I know you said in an older comment that you'd not yet gone into MMAC to try them all yet, but that was 3 months or something ago, and I'm curious to if you've attempted that one in particular in that time.

the item for the energy screw actually it does have a use if it glitchy dosent give you energy you will be on low energy and use the energy until its gone and go back and you and if your lucky your energy will fill

@acicon Do Elecman's stage twice. The Elecbeam can clear out the blocks where the M-beam is behind just the same as the useless Gutsman 'weapon' does.

Basically, It's an odd little mishap that switches the rock with air. It's kinda rare, usually to lag caused by The path thingy. He'll jump and go through the wall.

There's another glitch. While fighting Dr. Wily in his first form, get him down to 1 bar of energy, switch to the plasma cannon, then shoot Wily's cannon and at the same time, get hurt. Then once Wily's energy bar refills for his second form, repeatedly press start. Then when you get to the left hand corner of the screen, press left. What happens? That's for you to know and for me to find out.

I tried Rockman Complete Works on an emulator and found I was still able to do the "opposite directions together" trick that sends RockMan into the wall and allows you to jump to the Magnet Beam without clearing the blocks if your timing's right. If you get a Game Over after that, you can then have a save file with the Magnet Beam and no weapons.

@SplashWoman64 I highly suggest the Logitech USB headset. It records your voice really loud, not loud enough so that it's obnoxious, but still loud. It also records your voice as if you were talking to them right then. It is an amazing headset, and I'm wearing one now. :)

You know, originally there was supposed to be 2 more Mega Man bosses/stages, namely Time Man and Oil man, they just ran out of time and could code, or even start on the stages. The only proof of these would be from Mega Man: Power Up. If possible, I would finish the code for Mega Man and create the two missing bosses.

That's one of the cool things about Mega Man 1... you can't cheat with a turbo controller! All the Mega Man games should have been like that. Mega Man 1 is jam-packed full of bizarre glitches. I haven't found one yet that actually hinders gameplay, but some of them are really interesting.

I blame the character limit - I could have been more specific (thus avoiding this confusion) if I had had room. It doesn't help that I'm an overtalkative sort, if that's even a word anyway, thus 500 characters is actually pretty limiting for me sometimes. (See, there goes over half already!) Anyway. @GeminiLaser Mr. Hoover, sir! Could I perhaps show you some video footage of the Select/Pause Trick in action in Mega Man Anniversary Collection? I couldn't record it myself (and it's a shame, because I've been practicing it since it seems more difficult to pull off in that port), but I was able to ask one of my online friends to do so, and he uploaded it. Perhaps after seeing it, it'd at least be worth a mention, if you ever want to do a future video of previously missed glitches?

There's one big glitch in Iceman's stage, if you go to the higher point of the map (The hill before you drop down to the rooms with vanishing blocks) And then jump and press left and right really fucking fast the game is gonna go crazy, it spawns random stuff, graphics auto-destroy and most of the times it resets the game, don't ask me how i figured this out, i don't even know.

Lol! The select pause glitch was useful to beat this game with out a game genie. 😋 well the rock monster/yellow devil/bumo was the most difficult boss for me so I zapped his mug once and select paused until his defeat. Also that rapid fire glitch same results if u get to close to any enemy that requires multiple shots. Like those giant red eye plomper things. Lol!

In the Copy Bot battle, when the copied robot shoots out I, C, F, B, switch to any weapon you want and the Copy Bot Weapon's pattelte will change!

i always found it weird that megaman 1 had the select button pause the game. its like theres 2 buttons to pause the game. whats the point? well...apart from the multiple damage glitch i really dont see any use for that.

Apparently the turbo-fire thing is a feature of sorts: MM1 and MM5 are the only games where enemies have invincibility frame(s). Go figure.

This one's a little short compared to your later tricks videos... I was expecting you to at least show off the "Shredded Thunder Beam" Easter egg, where if you fire the Thunder Beam at CutMan or at the Super Cutters in his level, it will shatter into little pieces and bounce back in all directions. But that's not all! If you let ElecMan or your Copy hit you with a Thunder Beam while you have Rolling Cutter equipped, it will break and bounce off MegaMan in the same way!

I had a crazy glitch happen to me once on the real cart. Out of boredom one day I was pushing up and down on the game cart while the NES was on. Out of nowhere on the title screen, Megaman dropped from the top to the bottom and died and I got the "Game Over" message. I'm like "WTF?!" So I continued, only I was on the last level now, and the graphics were all messed up. I was unable to progress when I got to the part where you need to clear the blocks away, and I was disappointed. :(

@GeminiLaser well, i didnt get to play the X series (but i LOOOOVE THE HIDDEN HADOUKEN and SHORYUKEN in the games!!!!!) and i guess thunder would make a little sense cuz of all the rubbing electric stuff...but what about YOU THROW A CLOUD OF WOOL AT YOUR ENEMY?!
