Yea for sure! Each layer of this tune is its own melody perfectly intertwining with the others! Playing that on my famicon as a kid I always wanted to hear how these MM tunes would sound without some of the elements or if introduced gradually and well... this is one of the things that I explore in my remixes now. 🙂

Basically almost every megaman ost is influenced by its predecessor and has kind of the same vibe going on, but still manages to create a unique soundset and direction. :) Thats one of the beauties of megaman music.

​@@AllanZax That is true to an extent, but composers still have their own styles. For example, Mega Man 3 music with its greater emphasis on soul felt like a major stylistic shift from Mega Man 2 which seemed to have more rock influences. And Mega Man 4 music for the most part had an eccentric ADHD-like feel where much of the time each song can't seem to decide on its mood or focus, until you get to the second Cossack and second Wily themes where the focused soulful Mega Man 3 moods suddenly make a solid return. And Mega Man 5 returns to a stronger emphasis on focused moods, though it feels more upbeat and less bluesy than Mega Man 3. And of course, all six NES Mega Man games have different composers, with a few exceptions (Takeshi Tateishi did Mega Man 2's music, but Mega Man 1's composer Manami Matsumae stepped in to compose Air Man's theme - stuff like that). So yeah, sometimes later soundtracks take cues from earlier ones, but seldom in an orderly succession from sequel to sequel. The soundtracks of two neighboring Mega Man games tend to be more different from one another than they are to soundtracks further spaced out. If that makes sense? So it makes a few Mega Man 4 tracks like the second Wily theme stand out as outliers in an overall soundtrack with a very different personality. Since I've always been able to pick up different composers' styles and personalities (as long as they're not bland and forgettable like Berlioz), I always assumed that Fujita rather than Saito composed those tracks, since both are credited for the game's sound. But it was a surprise to learn Saito composed it herself - but it bears so much of Fujita's musical personality that one wonders if Saito arranged something Fujita composed, or if Fujita remixed something Saito composed. I find it hard to believe that Fujita *only* did the game's sound effects and was not involved in the music at all.

Dermot Mac Flannchaidh Agree. As a composer and music producer myself I know exactly what you mean. :) Im sure they collaborated in some way or form and thats why you can hear so much of Fujita in Saito's work on MM4.
