Nothing wrong with a fair spike drop. It's a standard in most Mega Man games, after all.

Yeah, but the spike drop itself seems really excessive, especially the 1-tile-wide gap which, in all honesty, is really cheap.

The gap on the fifth screen? I wouldn't say it's cheap at all, since you can land on either side and safely drop down. Anyway, while your level naturally isn't the most imaginative of the bunch I think there's something to be said for a spike drop done right. At the very least I've never heard a complaint about it, which is more than can be said for a lot of the game's levels. ;)
