Thanks! That means a lot to me, Petrucci and Gilbert are 2 of my top influences! I've been taking a break from bands at the moment. A lot of drama queen musicians where I'm from and I don't have time to deal with all that! Maybe some day I'll find the right pieces.
I absolutely love this medley, but there are so many great Mega Man themes that didn't make the cut. I think the only solution to this is a Mega Man Medley 2.0
YESSSS YOU THREW IN THE MEGA MAN 3 INTRO, BEST SONG FROM CLASSIC MEGA MAN! Sooooo gooooood. This is legit the best cover of the classic Wily Stage 2 I've ever heard though, which says a lot since RU-vid is absolutely swimming in them.
Dude, this is THE best Megaman Cover I've listened. You caught the essence of Megaman's music and succesfully adapted it to every instrument you played. I hope to see someone do a remake of the early NES Megaman games with THIS soundtrack instead of the 8-bit one (not that it is bad, but man this is awesome)
These are the best Mega Man covers I have EVER heard....period....and I have heard a whole lot of them. I wish you would do covers for all 10 soundtracks and Mega Man & Bass. You are amazing!
Y'know, after all the remixes I've heard of Dr. Wily's castle, you, Jonny, have probably done the best version. The follow-up to it with Flash in the Dark was also superbly done. I look forward to future Mega Man remixes (*Cough*MegaManX1 *Cough*IntroStage*Cough*)
Another of my favourite remixers (Leaf Xceed) very recently did an awesome X1 intro stage remix... I think for that reason alone I'd like to see something else. I feel like very few people have done a good full-length cover of Spark Mandrill's amazing theme. Armored Armadillo is awesome too. Storm Eagle is great but overdone.
Shinkada Lindwyrm Yea, Leaf Xceed's version is cool. About Spark Mandrill, did you heard Sixto Sounds' version from OCRemix "For Everlasting Peace" album? It was quite epic.
I don't know Flash in the Dark just had this feeling of being right for Megaman, after a hard 8 battles your storming this Castle by this mad man who has always tried to kill you. The rushing feeling of the song fits as you fight for you life to stop evil.
You know, it occurs to me that 8 going on 9 years later, you still haven't done a full cover of Wily Stage 1 (Wily Fortress/Castle 1, what have you), despite being one of the most iconic tracks from the Mega Man series. ...Maybe this year's May Madness will finally be the time? SiIvaGunner apparently did a GaMetal cover of that song before you did. :P
@@DeviDoesNothing That's probably true. I feel 331Erock has gotten a lot more profession over the years, but all his bangers are from the early 2010s. Sometimes its not about all that.
Absolutely flawless!! You really COULD do soundtracks for games, especially if remakes of these 8-bit games come out for phones. I have decided on using this as my favorite ringtone!! Thanks for sharing your talents and showing up the substandard covers littered all over RU-vid, Man!!
Hey guys! Just wanted to drop by (REALLY LATE) and let you know I am a HUGE fan of your renditions of my childhood as being the pinnacle of covers! Thanks guys!😭
Leaving a suggestion for Kingdom Hearts music on every video on your channel, either until I die or until my dream is realized. The franchise known for having some of the best music in gaming, deserves a spot in the repertoire of the best VGM cover artist on youtube! (My personal suggestion is Rage Awakened or Wave of Darkness)
But I do! Look carefully and you can see it sometimes. It's on the left (my left) side. I would put it on the other side, but it's bad luck for a hat to have a feather on the right!
You are a true VIRTUOSO man! You're a master in your art. I know what I'm talking about - I've played every single mega man games and I know every single mega man songs; I've listened alot of covers on RU-vid and your COVERS has something more, unique, and better. I take a gleeful delight listening your AWESOME COVERS. Thanks alot!
Oh my goodness gracious I have NO idea how I missed this video when you first uploaded it, but it just made my entire day. I love Mega Man SO MUCH, I do not even have words for how happy this medley makes me.
I really hope there's full cover of Solar Man's theme eventually. There's no good (standalone) covers of it on youtube despite the fact that it's just begging for proper metalization!!
So glad I knew nothing of the song choices. That megaman 9 rendition blew me away, but oh my GOD, when you busted out Solar Man I lost all composure. I was like AAAAAHHH YYEEEAAAHHH!!
Excellent playing, though I can't say this list is in any way the best songs in the library by a long shot, you played them well. I mean no magnet man, no get weapon, no spark man, no wood man.... time for a second and even better video my man!
Damn Jonny, thought your videos couldn't be better than the game scenes, but it's way better like this, with you playing the instruments! Keep it up dude!
Really amazing, I'm not surprised most tracks are from MM2. That seem to be most people's favorite MM game or favorite MM music. A bit boring to hear Dr Wily stage 1-2 from MM2 tho but it's the one song most people think about when they think of Mega Man. Wouldn't surprise me if that song is in the new Super Smash games. Anyhow great mix and I really enjoyed the special at the end. MM7 intro stage was my favorite one out of the fanchosen ones :3
Megaman 2 was one of my favorite and first games ever. My uncle introduced it to me with the gameqube aniversary edition and I gotta say that intro always pumped me up. And now Ive played and beat every classic megaman game and some of X.
I'm glad I found your YT page, I've always loved your Mega Man 4 Cossack medley. Needless to say I was excited to not only find you're still making VGM covers, but you also made a fantastic Mega Man Medley. I hope you consider making even more Mega Man medleys, the soundtracks are loaded with awesome VGM. Congrats on 2k subs btw, I believe I may have been the 2,001st
I'm so glad you're finally back in gear! You kick ass man. I had all of your tracks cataloged from the old site and I've tried to share them with everyone that appreciates good music. Just wondering who's leg I have to hump to get some more Wind Waker and/or Final Fantasy (preferably 8/9). I'd seriously kill for a compilation of any of those games done like your OoT and SMRPG tracks. Or even just Man with the Machine Gun. In any case, keep on rocking.
You've just gained another fan! This was so beautiful... all your work is amazing in fact, i can't get enough of it!! Found this on Newgrounds and already want to make a request!
i normaly don't listen to videogame music on newgrounds, i missclickt and when i wanted to press the "one page back" button the music started and i recognized it, listen to the end, and you have another subscriber now. can't w8 for your next gametal hope to hear something from illusion of time (illusion of gaia) like sky garden or Ankor Wat or or ocean palace of mu
I LOVE Games, I LOVE Metal! I listen to Video-Game Metal all the time around the internet, but YOU ARE the BEST, no question about it! Being a huge fan of Mega Man 7, I liked the MM7 Intro Stage the most, and it would be great to see what you can do with more songs from that game like Junk Man, Burst Man, Shade Man, Slash Man, Wily Stage 3 and others! Think about it and keep it up! Because you're amazing!
Yo man, I would LOVE to hear your take on the Megaman 2 boss battle music! I have looked ALL OVER and can't seem to find anyone who has done it. Incredible stuff though, this is my new "go to" channel. Keep it up!
HE'S BAAAAACK!! :D I've been waiting so long for your return, Jonny. No more shall the glory of Gametal lie dormant beneath the seal of copyright bullshit. No more shall we be denied our music over a simple name dispute. BOOYAH! XD Speaking of music, great idea using a Mega Man medley as your comeback piece. In all these years, soundtracks are something the blue bomber has yet to fuck up on, and they seem to blend perfectly with your personal style. Rock on, man! \m/
perfect interpretation so much good memories from my childhood :) i LOVED those themes, and u play them perfectly i'm always amazed by the quality of composition as well, those musicians had some good ears the tunes are simple and incredibly catchy and harmonious
