Burg, my best time is 37:11:56. Never knew that the phantom grab on Sigma stage 1 could be executed like that. That will definitely help me knock my time down the next time I play this game. Congratulations on WR! Are there plans to WR X2-X3?
a low 37 is pretty good. That sig 1 phantom grab only saves 1 second and that is IF you get the ammo drop. But it is cool. No plans for X2 or X3 currently.
The reason why your Chill Penguin didn't gold (most likely anyway) is because. In your Gold your Chill Penguin only did 1 slide! On this run Your Penguin did 2 slides.
@@ecarsonj For the GDQ question, I don't think I'll ever go to that. Too much trouble. As for missing an era. It was a while ago, I would say 2013 - 2015?? I think he was the first actually famous MMX runner. A lot of runners started because of him, myself included.
Its a strat that has been known to be possible for a while but we just started putting it into actual runs because its easier then people used to think it is.
If you mean after the boss explosions, that is a frame perfect trick we call a "fade-out". If you press start at the right moment before the fanfare, the screen will fade to black early (which lowers the OST but not the SFX) for the rest of the game until the next pause. The reason we do this, it saves 1/3 of a second or 20 frames whenever we manage to pull it off.
@@PeaceOwlGaming Actually, one more thing I forgot to mention unique to my case. I play on a CRT TV using a capture card to capture my video of the game, however this capture card I use, a GVUSB 2.0 doesn't have working capture audio (mine is just broken I guess). So the audio you are hearing is actually outputting from my CRT (aka the game sound) and its being picked up by my blue Yeti microphone which is what i'm also talking through. So normally when I get a fade out, I usually have to manually turn the volume up on my CRT TV to compensate for the sound of the game getting lower. I usually call this out when I do it in runs.
I don't think its frame perfect, but it is hard AF. 2 pixel vertical window and the regrab is about 4 frames. it will help you to learn what a 7 pixel jump is. Basically, don't press X deep into the left wall, X will stick kick off the wall 7 pixels away from it, that is when you want to try.
Drama, I say politically incorrect things sometimes and the people in charge of MMLB and speedrun.com are the same people that don't want me on the boards. They don't like me very much.
@burgalert took me a while to find this answer. What a bunch of crap. Just because you say things they don't like doesn't change the fact that you have to record... that's fucking corrupt and petty on a level that I can't even fathom.
That's the nature of the run I suppose. If it helps I can elaborate on some of the bosses in the Sigma stages. Vile: should always go the same way Kuwanger refight: there is a chance he can teleport when I try to hado him and ruin the run bospider: A player could read his pattern wrong and mess up Penguin refight: almost always goes the same way, a player could in theory mess up a jump and get hit by ice Eagle: Almost always goes the same way Rangda: I got a bit screwed here with the eye pattern, I wanted a better one Dillo: Refight skipped with a glitch Chemeleon: This one is exciting because you have to wedge an ice sled into the wall then Hado him, very tough Mandrill: You could yolo hado instead of freezing him octopus: almost always goes the same way Mammoth: almost always goes the same way Drex: Its pretty tight to get that kill on him, could miss Sigma's dog: almost always goes the same way Jedi sigma: almost always goes the same way.
