If you want to destroy Aztec Falcon, after the first stage, decline Ciel’s invitation to the first mission and go to the trans server. You can go back to the first stage and kill spiders till you get a charge shot and triple shot 🙏🏾 I love all the MMZ games alot. My favorite series to playthru. Zero is badass ❤️
Always just kind of assumed I was stuck doing that right away, but I guess it wouldn't make sense to be given a yes or no option otherwise. Great to know that you can grind one stage earlier.
After the intro stage, you can go back to the lab and kill the spiders that spawn from those cocoons to max out the Z Saber and Buster Shot. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, and you'll probably net a few thousand E Crystals while you're at it. And to learn their aerial roll, you need to use the Jump Slash to kill things; there's also a grounded roll you can learn by killing things with the Dash Slash, and to learn to shoot more bullets, you kill with uncharged shots. Other than those three moves, weapon levels are linear, but it's possible to beat the game without learning some of those moves.
@@ExploDjinn Yeah, I played this game a lot as a kid, and I remember grinding for hours trying to get the last level up on the Saber, but I never realized that I needed to kill things with the dash slash to get the rolling dash slash.
I beat Zero 1 as my second Mega Man game. The first one I beat was 11. I actually liked Zero 1, but going in I was well aware that I had to grind and did so - multiple times mind you - on the first level. As much as I enjoyed it (yes I am crazy why do you ask), I'm playing through Zero 2 and I honestly think it's better than 1. I should note though that I don't think everything needs to be casual friendly. The Zero series is one of those things that you need to work up to - start with the X series and go onto this.
The Zero series is a weird one to do early, with how unwelcoming it can be. I know some people who like a lot of the other games that refuse to touch these just because of the reputation, so I'm glad it didn't turn you off. It's a short series that mostly continues to improve upon itself, so I think you'll probably continue to have a good time.
While the Screen Crunch is horrid, there are a lot of area where mobility master can be displayed to go really fast. Phantoms stage is indeed one of them despite how it seems to want you to slow down.
Personally, I like it a lot . Im doing a run of all the X and Zero games. I consider it my 3rd favorite of the entire series so far. This is one of the games that actually is rewarding the player for unlocking everything, unlike a certain game (X6 sucks lmao) Im excited to start Zero 2. Story wise, it's a meh mostly cause it's just zero doing missions and ciel saying good job. Overall, though, a great 8.9/ 10 for me. I would give it a 9 but the lives system sucks in this game.
The games gradually roll back a lot of the complaints I have with this one, and while I do have a lot of gripes with Zero 2 personally, I have to admit that it is a better game. Hope you continue to have a good time with them.
I had this for the advance too back in the day and I can't explain why I like it as much as I do but it's great to me, and I slaughter those elves without mercy. Great breakdown 👍 looking forward to part 2 with that awful phoenix
@@ExploDjinn It's the nes/snes aesthetic too it hits a unique sweet spot, and just so much replay value whether you want to seek out the elves or go for best times and rank.
>Getting a high rank in the Zero games requires next to perfect memorization of the entire level >Getting a B or below locks you out of skills and abilities >You can’t replay missions to get the stuff you missed out on >Cyber-Elves - at least in the first game - actually murder your score, so if you care about ranks and getting skills, the average player has to avoid using them almost in their entirety >Lock health upgrades behind certain Cyber-Elves >If you're already in the mindset of avoiding Cyber-Elves, then you wont even think about using these ones >Only find out about how this system works via online guides >They change it every game >Weapon Grinding that feels very out of place in an action platformer All they had to do was copy+paste MMX's progression system to a T, but no, we gotta do a ranking system and weapon leveling to feel unique. These are very solid games, But I could not recommend these to a casual player at all.
Hey, when I say this game hates you, I mean it. In a slight defense of the series, every time they change the Cyber Elf system, it becomes more accessible, and they do ease up on the weapon grinding before completely doing away with it, but yeah, I largely agree. While I say I recommend the series with the difficulty options, I probably should have also added that'd I'd only do so to something who already likes the X series. This definitely wouldn't be the starting point.
This game is kind of like Double Dragon 3 for the NES. (Well maybe not that ridiculous). If you die all your lives you start all over again. What were the devs thinking?
I got it when it came out, was a decent X player so I did ok until I to Final X and couldn't beat him. But then I realized I could use elves and I started to use them, beat X but realized my rank decreased. I liked it though.
