Mega Pony: Episode 3 no-damage run as Mega Pony.

The first time I fight each mare, I use uncharged buster only. Otherwise, I use boss weapons and charge shots as I see fit.
Please note that in Discord Stage 5, everything besides the final boss does not do any damage to me, even though I get hit. I'm not sure if it's even possible to get through there without getting hit.
I apologize if some things are a little hard to see. The colors look a bit duller after upload than they should be...

Unfortunately, there is some slowdown in Discord Stage 2. I guess my computer isn't good enough to play and record it at the same time, but apparently it's only that stage. The rest of the video has no slowdown.
• Navigational annotations are included in the video for skipping through sections of the run. To enable/disable them, click on the Settings button (the gear icon) in the bottom-right corner of the video, and set Annotations to On or Off.
• I included some commentary for this run. You can enable/disable commentary by clicking on the [CC] button in the bottom-right corner of the video. Additional options like font size are available through that button. Note that commentary might cover up gameplay in some areas where the floor is low on the screen (probably most bosses).
• You can also access a transcript of the commentary by clicking on the Transcript button (to the right of the "About", "Share", "Add to" buttons). This transcript is searchable, so feel free to use Ctrl+F to search for specific text.

I have to give this game credit. They didnt just slap a pony into megaman, they took the time and effor to make unique enemies and levels as well as powers. I greatly anticipate a sequel and hope its in the works.

@@alienfuck6940 Not any more originality than what the Mega Man fans do. Fully original stage layouts, the human characters from the Mega Man side are ponified, custom music medleys, consistent famicom style, multiple playable characters, original special weapons. That's ironically a lot more than most Megaman fangames at the time did, this came out before Mega Man Rock Force, which was the next NES style fangame to implement all of this (ponification asides). It was actually pretty well liked by us Mega Man fans because the mechanics are accurate, the hitboxes are correctly sized for the pony sprites, and the weapons are fantastic utility weapons.

Little do people know, that if you hit Twilight when she falls with any weapon, she takes extra damage, enabling one to 4 or 5 shot her. even less if you have the Charge shot already and 'save' a shot by switching to the stare after charging.

sheeeeet son i just had a huge nostalgia shiver go down my spine when i watched this incase it wasnt apparent from my spider picture i love megaman related stuff and having a mlp version of it was fun as hell from the looks of it but that 8-bit version of true true friend got me good hell my eyes are still teary from it amazing job to this khao mortadios person and amazing game all in all

Wow. That's skill. Although in some cases the original Megaman 2 can be a little more difficult, this game was really difficult as well. Which in a way, is a good thing... because I feel that gaming has gone soft compared to the older NES titles and older games in general. Awesome playthrough though, you deserve more views and more subscribers.

I swear, if I had never heard of MLP I would just asume this is Capcom imitating Konami, doing what Parodius did for Gradius. However, I do know, and hate with a passion the MLP franchise. That is not to say I would not download this jewel of insane creativity. I mean: come on! That Dashing Rainboom is, essentially a lil' pony flying with the power of its multi-colored 'exhaust'... no wait, it its tail... WHO CARES! Its a pony farting rainbows! Just because of that, it's an instant download.

I don't know if your're aware already, but there's a much safer, and maybe faster strategy for rainbow's second phase, in which she doesn't fire lighnings at all.

If you're talking about the strategy that Phoe uses in her perfect run - Mega Pony Perfect Run: Rainbow Dash Stage - I wanted to show Loyal Mare's desperation attack and how to dodge it, though Phoe's strategy is definitely much faster. Either way, it's good that there are different strategies so that people have a choice of what to watch.

Yeah. I was considering making this one a no-damage buster-only run as well. But since Phoe was already doing a perfect run (which is also no-damage buster-only), I figured I'd use special weapons just to show something different. Strangely enough, my episode 2 video seems to be getting more views and comments than this video.

im beside myself...not that you did this without damage but that there is a my little pony adaptation of megaman 2 for gameboy. its well done too. a lot of new programming not just edited spritesheets. the music seems a little lazy, some songs are just shifted in key but overall this looks really good

Also, the music isn't just shifted in key, most of them are MLP songs done in the style of specific MM songs. They're actually pretty cleverly done.

Yeah takes hours to unlock MegaMan on gems grinding so best turn on unlimited lives and using 20 gems to repeat over and over again to unlock Megaman and the charge shot.

I'd say it took a couple of weeks of practice (dozens of tries) and a couple of weeks of recording (more dozens of tries) before I got this single-segment no-damage run.

Mint Vanilla Wow. The only game I've ever tried more than a month to perfect was Super Punch Out!! for the SNES. I can play through the whole game in about 23-24 minutes with no damage. This was probably because it was the only game I had at the time, but whatever.

Denver Patterson I remember being able to beat The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (100% completion, no deaths, single-segment) in five hours. I know that speedrunners can do it in less than half the time, but hey, I'm proud of my accomplishment. ^_^

King K Rool does something similar in Donkey Kong Country. When you land the "final" hit, he cries out and falls does, your character does the victory animation, and the scene darkens and pans to the center of the arena...then the credits begin playing and it's K Rool's minions with all the credit roles starting with K. Then the scene goes back to normal and he jumps back up to attack again.
