God, this is four years old and these people weren't even that big of a problem back then, especially since Let's Players weren't a huge portion of RU-vid and Twitch.tv wasn't a thing. You predicted the future, Mega64.
No, but online reviewers and critics were big at the time. Notice that none of the girls are playing games, but are talking about games in front of a camera? That was huge at the time.
I would disagree, remember reply girls? Those bitches annoyed me. And they were there like 5 years ago. This issue has existed ever since RU-vid has existed.
Al González Well true, but I haven't seen one of those video since 2012 lol. Maybe they still exist, but I haven't seen one. I'm sure a couple are left somewhere in the darkest corners of RU-vid. But thats a corner I'm not willing to discover ._.
You know what hits me hardest?? As a girl who has been playing games since I was like 5, I would often frequent angelfire Doll Maker websites in the 90s and a LOT OF THE SITES had the midi music that they are playing in the background (90s female r&b music) GG This is fucking hilarious, HOW DID THEY KNOW? LMFAO
To the women who are offended, have you seen Todd and Aaron's Game of the Year awards? Or their Madden and Halo videos? Or the other hundreds of times they make fun of being a guy and being stupid?
Alexia, I think you're awesome, and your criticism of the gaming industry's practices reveal a stunning intellect. I'm sorry so many commenters are ignorant, but you're a good person, and it's important you stay that way even though it can be discouraging. Miranda, I'm sorry about Kevin. I know it's easy to beat yourself up for it, but it's his loss. Any man would be lucky to know a girl half as amazing as you are. Stay strong, even though it's hard. Look forward to more game reviews from you in the future. Kimmy, it's so cool you got to go to Japan. You're very lucky, being able to travel like that. You're super awesome, and one day you will be a great mother.
bawhaha i haven't seen this video in so long or forgot about it but remember mega64 podcast where rocco talked about showing his costco card to the cab driver who just went 'oh AH AH COST-CO!'
Cant tell you how much i love this skit series. And the Gameboyzz at the end OMFG laughed so hard, especially being a die hard halo fan and remembering that animated "R U ready for Halo Reach" video.
So I've been watching you guys since before RU-vid. I'm a big fan and I really think you are comedic geniuses. That being said: how is it possible that in all this time you haven't yet bothered to get a character together named Megan 64? Sincerely, a concerned fan.
No one gets that this skit is making fun of the "girl gamers" meme. I still find this funny years later, because I know it's a skit and don't take it so seriously. Plus Alexia looks fine.
Been watching this vid occasionally throughout the last couple of years... and just now waited until the very end and saw GameBoyz.... I feel retarted.
Wow I thought I was watching FriendZone until it ended 2 hours earlier than it was supposed to, then I was like "Oh shit, I'm actually watching something good"
If you pay attention slowly, its actually an accurate commentary of the hostility towards female gamers, and how guy gamers perceive them. If you didn't get the subtle ques...the girls at the end dressed like boys with beards (yelling balls to the top of their lungs) was sort of the exclamation point !!! Mega64... definitely not on the typical assholes side.
I think this video is a joke about the machism in videogames. A lot of people thinks the girls only play "barbies and ponys" games... A lot of people sucks...
No, this is making fun of the "girl gamers" that only play these kind of games and very casual games. And shove that they are "girl gamers" into people's throats.
