Meanwhile the start for me is their even older videos. These guys grew up in the same small town in MO that I did. The Katamari video was filmed on the same baseball fields I played on as a kid. Also in front of the grocery store I pick up my meds at.
+Desert Hobo Clever, yet your insignificant opinion in the minority can't change the fact that the original trilogy are considered some of the greatest games of the early PS era.
The fact that the Sonic movie released on the exact same month as this video 10 years later (thus allowing the video's sequel to come out exactly when it is relevant) is an example of the cosmic stars lining up just right if I've ever seen it.
@@Nitrodino7875 The joke is that the quality of Weezer albums is practically the same to how the quality of Sonic games progressed. They started off amazing(The first two albums= The Genesis Sonic Games), they went into new directions and became pretty shit or just ok for a while (like the late 90s to mid 2000s Sonic games), then proceeded to make a comeback (Sonic Generations and Colors=EWBAITE and The White Album), and since then, they've just been doing mediocre stuff. The only exception to this analogy would be Sonic Mania, and that's it.
This is pretty funny, although I think the problem with Sonic isn't that it doesn't do anything original, but the fact that it tries too much to be different in each game, which usually doesn't end well.
Sonic has came out with many orginal good things but Its the games that don't live up to it I have no idea what you're talking about with this "Sonic can't come up with anything original."
I'd say the problem with Sonic is the opposite. They come up with an entirely different concept for every game and never try to build on the successes they've had in the past. How can they have any level of expertise making something they've never done before? Thus, the finished product is bad because hey literally only figured out how to make the damn game. Lost World was like Mario Galaxy, and it had some potential but they threw out every idea (both good and bad) and came up with Boom, a (horrible)adventure game - which you could even say is a complete different genre.
but. wait. do people still think sonic team made boom? Sega published and licensed it but gameplay was left up to the American team big red button. they chose the beat em up genre because it was a tie In for the boom TV show, which is fighting and comedy centric rather than platforming. it was really unfinished because the team was too ambitious and had too short a deadline. once again the game was a tie in for the show, so delaying it would make it come out later than the show, missing out on maximum profits. the game is mostly patched up now but it's still a really boring and not fun experience.
No guys, the problem of Sonic is not that it never changes, it's because it changes too much. They should stick with what they do best, playing it safe, but no, they keep trying to do original stuff every single time instead of just improving on what worked in the past. This is why Sonic sucks, every time their recipes are on the right track, finally they are going back to serve tasty burgers, fries, and onion rings, they have to radically change their recipes again with new gimmicks.
You know with those new Colors and Generations, it seemed like Sonic was kinda making a comeback, but then that Boom thing came out and now we're back to square one.
I'm literally laughing so hard right now since the Sonic fanboys are asking questions like, "who teh resturunt or sonik teh heghug???" What makes me truly wonder is why tf did they search up, "Sonic sucks"?
Greetings from the future! As of 2014 to present (mid 2016) that Weezer joke at the end is no longer relevant; I can't say the same for Sonic though... (damn that Sonic Boom)
Mario and Original? HA good one. Mario does the same thing over and over again, the only difference is that Mario does "better", but that doesn't mean they've been giving you the same shit. believe it or not, Sonic is more original then Mario as Sonic at least *tries* to be original and do different styles of game but in the end fail. Mario is not original, it just does the job better then Sonic.
***** true, but I don't think you heard, I said that Mario isn't original but it does it's job *better* then sonic, Sonic is always trying new things but is shit at it. and those explains are just the same thing as normal Mario but in a 3D terrain, you still jump platform to platform, nothing different except moving in all directions instead of two.
True but what about that sonic game cal... no wait there was that other sonic game...... no never mind you made your point rest in peace sanic teh fugehog
Boo Fire Right, because multiple games being platformers, even between different dimensions, makes them BASICALLY the same recycled shit, right? Mario is probably one of the most diverse game franchises there are. The platforming aspect, in a lot of cases, can be considered the only constant, and that isn't even true if you count the Mario racing, party, sports, and puzzle games. To be fair, Sonic did all of those things too, largely because Mario did them first. I could just as easily say that all Sonic games are basically the same because the central mechanics are running fast and collecting rings, and that isn't even true. Sonic, much like Mario, tries entirely new ideas all the time. The only problem is that the final products tend to be poorly executed garbage. At least the EARLIEST Mario games were unarguably well-designed. Sonic games have never been good. In it's most BASIC form, Sonic is fatally flawed.
AngusTheZombie First off, yes Mario has done other things, but the thing with Mario (and Nintendo as a whole) is that when it finds a system that works, they'll milk the shit out of it. and for Sonic, your pretty much saying what I just said about him.
+David Dalton I'll fight you on that. Their latest album was very good but everything after Green album (which was okay) ranged from mediocre to horrible. You mean to tell me Raditude, Hurley, or Make Believe had any hooks even half as catchy as the ones on Blue and Pinkerton? No way. Weezer is one of my favorite bands of all time but after the turn of the century they became incredibly misguided and put out a lot of garbage.
***** Alright, Raditude was pretty bad, although I Want You To was great. The reasons for people hating Hurley and Make Believe just seem very childish to be, and both have some songs that are really good. I love Blue, but I can't listen to Pinkerton anymore, it just seems too whiny to me at this point, but I'm sure it's just a result of all the pinkerton fans' complaints I've heard over the years.
+David Dalton That's the thing though, after their first two everything was mostly just okay. The last word I'd use to describe their first two albums is "mindless", yet it still manages to be a lot of fun. There were just too many moments where they catered too much to the sensibilities of the radio rather than the spirit of what made them so good in the first place. Though, I will admit, there's a couple of their later songs I'd put under the category of a guilty pleasure (looking at you, Hash Pipe). I agree it's pretty fun and poppy at times, but it just doesn't have the staying power as their first two. Even if lyrically Pinkerton doesn't do it for you, the songs behind them are still catchy without being watered down. I think there's one thing we can for sure both agree on, and that's that their lastest album was great. Certainly their best in a very long time.
Weezer died after pinkerton. sorry. I have a book written by Rivers Cuomo and in it, he says he intentionally started making shitty music after pinkerton. he was tired of putting everything he had into his music, so he started making soulless pop music. its cool if you like their newer stuff but don't say its as good as the old stuff, because that simply isn't true. even Rivers would disagree with you.
>Criticizes Sonic for being the same shit every game (which isn't even true, the main series has had about four theoretical reboots so far) >Fans of Mario In all seriousness though, how the hell is keeping a consistent formula in a video game series a bad thing? (Inb4,000,000,000,002 me having a Sonic-related avatar is used against me and I'm accused to be an autistic furry even though it's true)
Sonic has been bad for a while. Adventure 1 and 2 are glitchy messes. Sonic games are just fucking bad games that try to be original but come off as just a fucking mess. Mario may be repetitive sometimes but its better then sonic
It's not that they're the same thing every time: the problem is that they're just terrible games. I've NEVER played a good Sonic game. Not even the originals were good. They're sloppy, repetitive messes with terrible controls and awful level design. How the series ever got popular- and how ANYONE can think that they're as good as Mario- is utterly baffling.
It's not as much that t's the same shit, is more that it just sucks ass. Yes Mario is the same shit, but guess what, the formula works. The main core of Mario is so fucking solid it still works to this day. Sonic doesn't
The mario pizza place will just be the same pizza over and over but every couple of years they will bring out something original, but then go back to making the same thing.
As a longtime fan of both Continue and Mega 64, when I first read your comment I was like "the fuck is this guy talking about, they could not be any more diff- my god..." You have shown me the light!
@DJSonicFreak What are you talking about? There talking about the meals at the Sonic fast food place. Dont know how you came up with Sonic the Hedgehog from. :P
Part 2: in order to stretch Mario and Zelda's lifespan. It would be kind of nice if they finally give them online multiplayer already... but I guess Nintendo might be saving that as a gimmick that saves them in the end in case people look stop noticing Mario or Zelda.
