The biggest problem with Windows 8 is that I have yet to see a reason to update Windows 7 to it. I've tried to look for one. Anyone got any? Maybe I'll just see what Win 9 brings along.

I actually had a dream last night that the Kinect was no longer optional. I woke up in a sweat. My Kinect is still in the box with the plastic on the shiny bits.
trust me. If you don't want big bro watching then stay off the internet. Google makes files on you, your webcam can be hacked into, your computer can be hacked into, Android devices are track..... So if your not buying Xbone because of privacy concerns, and you participate in any of these stated activities then your not buying it for the wrong reason. THERE ARE NO FUCKING GAMES ON XBONE! That is a good reason.

Ha! That Windows 8 part! I've used Windows 8 for like 20 minutes. Even if it's easy to navigate, it still feels cumbersome for a desktop OS. It seems to be better fit for a tablet.
I bought one because of a £100 deal that got you 3 games along with it...why did I do it, I was so stupid back then. I can't even find the thing now, to try trading it away. I say try, because my family kinda likes it, but I don't.
In all seriousness though, the Kinect makes for a great still motion capture, like making 3D model figures off of actual people by scanning through their whole body.
Jesus christ, that was my exact reaction the first time I tried to use Windows 8, all Microsoft has been doing lately is shooting themselves in the foot, they clearly have lost all touch with their userbase.
DreamStepper I tried using it for about an hour or two on a VM.. and I never looked back.... no seriously, it's so backwards, that anyone who doesn't just check email on their computer, knows it, I can't stand windows 8 and there's literally no reason to use it either. (expect for I heard its better on tablets)

DreamStepper But why do they have to force new things such as this upon the users. It's also hard to do work with since everything is harder to access, like registries etc. Good for touch screens though.
I'm fine with Win8, though mainly because I have a laptop/tablet hybrid. I would never want it on anything without a touchscreen. That said, this video was amazing. :D Especially the later half.
I dunno what you guys are talking about, I like to use my Kinect all the time. I can do things that I could have done in seconds by pressing a button, but instead I like to say, "XBAX!" and try to confirm that the decisions I've made in my life are good ones.
You where probably thinking that one day a thief will break into your house... And when that day comes you can flash your Kinect at him and he'll run away thinking you own nothing of any real value. :)

Well how are you suppose to compete when the freedom Linux bestows upon us is tops? You just gotta admire their effort as all, I mean no matter how bad they get they'll never be as terrible as Apple but they still try.
