The Megabass Destroyer P5 Javelin is a 7'5" medium-heavy power, medium-fast action rod designed primarily for moving baits ranging from offshore swim jigs or swimbaits to large treble hooked topwater baits or big crankbaits. One of the best all purpose lipless crank rods ever made. The BMG is also a great rod for ripping bigger lipless cranks, it’s surprising parabolic throughout the blank but also powerful. The BMG is extremely versatile.

Do you think this rod would work for 1/2 spinnerbait, 1/2 chatterbait, and full size walking baits like Zara Spooks? Thanks the video Pete. I’m try to find a multi purpose rod that would cover those techniques. Thanks

I’ll think it would be a great choice for a Chatterbait or big Spook rod. For spinnerbaits in particular, I would use a trailer hook or look for ones with a larger than average hook. Thanks for watching !

@@omniafishing thank you. Is there any other rods that you would suggest for those techniques that would be a better choice? I have been also considering the megabass mail, the Loomis NRX 893, or any rod in the St. Croix tournament Bass line of rods?

If you're specifically looking for a rod that will aid in casting distance, a longer rod is going to be your best bet. The Madbull is likely too short for your needs, and the 893's extra-fast action isn't going to be the ideal choice for moving baits. The Javelin has the length that you're looking for to make those long casts, and more of a moderate-fast action that will excel in fishing the techniques you mentioned. In the St. Croix LTB line of rods, the 7'3" heavy/moderate-fast "Rip-N-Chatter" would be our pick.
