i did listen to his other work. but marty sounds different than every guitar player. his style is so unique that once you hear him playing you know its him. chris uses scales and patterns that lots of other guitar players use too. thats not the case with marty. and btw, like i said, chris is still an awesome player!
Yes! YES! More 'soul' 'heart' feeling' 'he plays like a robot' comments. The first 600,000,000 weren't enough! ...and yet strangely in the meet and greets I'll bet no one, not one person has had the stones to tell him this. Isn't that....ODD?!
Chris is the first Megadeth guitarist to really do that thrash sound justice, Drover tried but in actuallity the iconic guitar players (Friedman, Poland) had a more melodic take on their leads but broderick is COMPLETELY different we just need to warm up to him
Chris.. Marty.. Glenn ... Poland...to my ears... they're all great and each of them contributed to the grandiosity of Megadeth... not as much as Dave did but great contributions for sure.... I like Chris more for trash but Marty came at the right moment and elevated Megadeth to another level with his perfect solos, so he is more important in Megadeth history than anyone apart from Dave.. each of those 4 were the best for Megadeth in my opinion... sorry Kiko even when I like your personality maybe you came a bit late
I don't even care anymore. The people who think that Chris can't write good solos are tweaking. That 'How the Story Ends' solo is especially incredible. I think it's stupid to compare him to Marty because those two have completely different styles, it's just that both styles are great in their own unique ways
@mortal1964 the second solo in the right to go insane, the second solo in 44 minutes, the main solo in bodies is Mustaine, the last solo in endgame, the 1sr, 3rd, 5th, 7th solos in 1320, and the last solo in this day we fight were all mustaine
Friedman is a very naturally talented player. But he started kind of late and is all self taught, whereas Broderick was on a music college and knows classical guitar techniques. Technically is far ahead of Friedman. Marty was a very good composer and also Marty was lucky to be part of the strongest Megadeth era, when Mustaine was still young and creative and Metal was still listened by a huge percentage of the youth whereas Broderick had the bad luck of npbeing part of a weaker Megadeth era and in a time when the youth prefers techno and Hiphop, over real instruments
Death Magnetic sure was awesome, but Endgame actually pwns Death Magnetic. Im not sure if im gonna look forward to Metallicas new album, as there might be a very very good album, or a bad one. Megadeth always have a very good album. Metallica have had their days, Sad But True. Megadeth is better for now, but maybe later Metallica may get better again.
Absolutamente.. yo compré y escuché un poco Distopía y terminé por aburrirme... Kiko es un excelente tipo muy bueno pero no es para trash...la partida de Chris quitó mucho a mi banda favorita
Ahh I don't know, I think we have different opinions. I actually prefer Marty's solo albums I find them to be more sophisticated theoretically and melodically
Broderick, he plays technically marvel... but there was something from his solos, doesn't feel really 'connected' or 'grooving' like what Friedman did back in those years... sounds awesome Broderick is, but...doesn't feel that way as well... :(
How many guitarists do you fit in the "most overrated in the world" category? If you compare him to Slash, Hammett, Hendrix, Clapton, Angus Young... suddenly he doesn't look so overrated.
Broderick is all technique and no real talent for writing anything that actually moves the listener. This is what happens when you take guitar lessons and study theory. Whoever takes his spot in megadeth does not even need to learn his solos. That's how Unmemorable they are. Any selection of 300 fast notes will do. The Friedman , Poland solos ..... They HAVE to be learned because they are memorable and serve the song. 2 concepts Broderick never bothered to utilize
I am a Broderick fan but you are right... Marty and Poland are more memorable and perfect solos for Megadeth songs... it's just that Chris style is very cool and aggressive with the rythm section.... all them are outstanding shredders
