Just imagine back in 1990 you bought the Rust in Peace CD, popped it into the player, and this is the first song that comes up. 30yrs later, it's still pretty topical.
But we had videos on HBB, unlike this guy who can't go on RU-vid. Wait this is already being claimed by UMG, why doesn't he tuck in the original video?
I remember getting this CD when it came out. Playing it, I thought my stereo was going to catch fire after this song. The Onion has an article about this song. Check it out.
@@BlGGESTBROTHER I know Extinction signified their transition into more commercial stuff, but I still feel like it was their last great album. Not a big fan of a couple of the songs, but songs like Ashes in Your Mouth and Architecture of Aggression are still pretty awesome. Also, Captive Honor ain't to shabby either.
In this genre of metal, without a question. Metal has so many damn subgenres it's almost comical, there is so much even those of us who only listen to metal will never hear. I've been listening to this album since its release and I don't know if I can say the same for the metal I listen to now that I will be listening to them almost 30 years later.
I don’t know about that one. I would say 1.) Stargazer- Rainbow, 2.) Hallowed be Thy Name- Iron Maiden 3.) Victim of Changes- Judas Priest, and then MAYBE this song. As far as thrash metal, definitely best in my opinion.
Poison Control tough question.. tbh, im a huge 80s Metallica fan.. so im biased.. RTL, MoP, Ajfa are my 3 fav Metallica albums.... I would also put Rust in Peace and probably Paranoid...
Now you have to hear their song Tornado Of Souls. Or Ashes in your mouth or.... Megadeth is the shit. One of my favorite bands. Nobody ever reacts to Ashes In Your Mouth. Do that one from Megadeth next. It's amazing.
I enjoyed watching this more than I thought I would - who knew watching someone discover (and clearly enjoy) music you've been into for years could be so much fun?
Metallica is incredible, make no mistake, but the sheer musicianship of Megadeth is undeniable. I've always preferred them and I believe they're SEVERELY underrated. The entire Rust in Peace album is one of my favorite pieces of music ever produced.
A lot of people can't get past Mustaine's vocals and don't give them a chance on that basis. I just love the way Megadeth introduce time changes seamlessly into their music.
@@andrewlaw Sadly, I live in this camp. I love metal and hard rock. Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, the list goes on an on - I love 'em all! But I just cannot get into Megadeath. Oh, I want to. I desperately want to because the music is just so, so good. But the vocals are like nails on a chalkboard to me. It makes me so sad.
Oh well, there are always a few clowns that can't appreciate technical well-written music and you are one of them. Enjoy your mediocre metal and we shall enjoy ours.
Funny, I've heard this song a bazillion times but watching you review gave me fresh ears, made me appreciate it all over again, love your reviews bro, fucking excellent!
Same. I am trying to learn the Mustain's solo and I listen to it trillions times too. And he have a perception that we dont have anymore. That's pretty interresting actually.
The same feeling here, we take it for granted, we are used to it, sometime we forget how awesome it truly is. Watching someone hearing it for the first time is a really good reminder.
Preston, your looking for Megadeth - IN MY DARKEST HOUR. That's your style. First ⅔ is slow building to an EPIC finale and close. Instrumentally complex and vocally passionate. TRUST ME ON THIS. This is what you're looking for.
If you dig instrumentals, also try Into the Lungs of Hell. Find the real version from so far... So good... So what? not the remastered one where they added completely out of place horns and stuff (you'll know in the first few seconds if it's that version). In my Darkest Hour is my all time favorite piece of metal and Megadeth my all time favorite makers of it.
Can't stop watching your channel. It's getting embarrassing. Feel like a fanboy. I am living vicariously through you. I watch you react, and it brings back those jaw dropping days of my youth when I first heard these songs. Keep it coming.....
I’m 46 and just recently tripped into your videos. I love it that you are going back in time to find different music to you. I’m enjoying watching how positive you are and enthusiastic. I’m not much of a Megadeth fan but sure can appreciate the musicianship these guys had.
I totally get it...except I never really listened to half of these artists at all... I dismissed them as angry teenage boy shit. It's wonderful to discover 'new' things with him.
bruhhhhh now watching your reaction is bringing me back to the spiritual experience i felt when i first listen to this song----THANKS SO MUCH King KTF.
@@11DNA11 I was 14 and would've got it the day it was released, but I had to wait a week for my allowance. I played the shit out of that cassette until I got it on CD in 96.
I always love the facial expressions of first time listeners of this song... priceless. Like their brain can't fully comprehend what's happening. I remember that same feeling when this came out. Great job! Thank you!
Now you need to listen to pantera. They had one of the best guitar players ever. And I promise you that two seconds in to anything from the album vulgar display of power you will be in savage mode.
What about far beyond driven and their first 4 songs 😛 strength beyond strength, becoming, 5 minutes alone and I’m broken, then skip good friends and a bottle of pills and boom you have hard lines and sunken cheeks 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 soooooooooooooooooooo good
Make sure you check out Pantera's Domination live in Moscow 91' the sickest breakdown you will ever hear!! And one of the nest guitar solos ever as well!!!
Its fantastic that your backing it up and really listening and appreciating the different music for what it is. I recently did that with a lot of hip hop groups ive never heard of before. Music is amazing bro..
Kasperr you the one making a big deal about him being black. It’s a statistical fact that black people tend to listen to hip hop/rap, so KnightWatcher11 has a valid point with his comment. You need to chill the fuck down
I love it. I made my purpose to practice and learn songs like these only having 2-3 years of playing experience at the time. Lol my purpose of that was to show the boys thay girls could rock too (I was 10 ) But also to learn different techniques and such. But Rock n Roll is AWESOME! So are the drums.
Dude.....I love watching your genuine reactions to music I grew up with, played and enjoyed all through my youth. Love your vids, bro. Just watched this one for the third time. Lol 🤘🏼😂🤘🏼
Now we are talking! Pure perfection! Masterpiece! It is indeed one of the TOP Thrash Metal songs EVER! Actually the whole album is OUT of this world. Please react to Tornado of Souls, same LP Rust in Peace.
I've been a megadeth fan since their first days and this song still gives me goosebumps. I love ur reaction when a song causes that slow smile to appear
MustObeyTheRules, you’re now called Head O’ The Nail Hitter in my eyes. “Good Mourning, Black Friday” takes you through a whole new dimension of song writing. It is my java in the morning
I'm still blown away every time I listen to the song myself.... who would have thought you could feel the emotions through metal sound of what he was trying to say through all the change ups ect.
Considered a masterpiece in the metal community. Fkn song is awesome. My reaction exactly the first 100 times I heard it so many years ago. Love ur reacts and no there is no other song like this
It definitely is an acquired taste. When I first started listening to them, I love everything, except Dave's voice. I decided to keep pushing through and eventually I grew to like it. They quickly became my favorite band. They are the complete package IMO. Lyrics, monster riffs and solos, and some amazing drumming!
+DrizzlyEarth Megadeth still stay true to the core component of speed metal within thrash, and they evolve that concept and push the envelope creatively more than anyone else. While Metallica went on to infuse NWOBHM elements in Master Of Puppets and ..And Justice For All, Mustaine retained and evolved the speedy riff oriented, progressive approach to song writing, broke its limits in *Killing is My Business* , matured its vibe in *Peace Sells* , expanded its breadth in *So Far So Good So What* and unleashed its full creative potential in *Rust In Peace* .
Getting goosebumps means youre "getting it"!! You are beginning to not just listen to the music but hear and feel the music....youre becoming o e of us! A Metalhead!!
Kieran Yannotti I like some rap songs of course, like listen to Paavoharju - Tumulus . But even then, I actually just really like the background music.
If you listen to Rock and Metal you don’t need other genre . Only Hop/Hop fans say why limit to one genre becoz they have not heard any real music in their life .
You know nearly every band has a unique selling point and with it an album or maybe a whole back catalogue that sees them at a creative peak , there is so much out there for you to discover 50 odd years of this stuff ....you lucky lucky man.
My dude, I watch you a lot and ... I examine music as well. Though there is one song by Rainbow that you must hear. Rainbow { live on Stage 1977 } " CATCH THE RAINBOW " is the name of the song. I promise you that IT will blow your mind.
