So so happy to see that HUGE improvement since the throat surgery. This is MILES beyond what he could do just after that. And hell just after that he was back on stage and singing. Damn, cancer fought Dave Mustaine and lost.
Getting James LoMenzo back in the band is one of the best things Dave could have done. The same fresh thrash energy that we had in United Abominations is back in full force. Fuck yeah.
even though Dave's voice is not how it used to be, he can still sing very well PLUS the riffs still go hard. I actually think his voice has improved within the past year or so.
You couldn’t have picked a better one. I saw megadeath and metallica and slayer all on their very first tours. Of course I’m 56 years old now but just like Dave shows us you’re never to old to bang your head 🤘
Mechanix is cool but they really need to crank out more tunes from KIMB. Last Rites “Loved to Deth”, Skull Beneath The Skin, Looking Down The Cross, Rattle Head and the title track, are all monster songs, at the bands rawest. Would love to hear more of those for sure!
@@jacksonsmetalcollection Maybe. But if you’re thinking because his throat cancer recently, he wasn’t performing those before it, except for Rattlehead. I don’t think his vocal range is that different now. Listening to the new album, sounds pretty much the same to me.
@@ghostlandgrand64 its a combination of throat cancer as well as the neck surgery he had before big 4 at sofia. you can definitely hear at the end of poisonous shadows as well as in a lot of live shows that he was starting to get at least part of his range back, but it seems that the throat cancer either hurt his range or limited it from growing back. but thats the specific reason they dont play those live. pretty sure he said he would play the KIMB title track but he cant because of his voice
The best part about this, weather you like this version, or that other bands, weather you like Mustaines voice or not...is that he's not standing up there, pandering to the crowd for half the song, trying to drag it out for an extra 5 minutes with audience participation, or talking about love and family. He's up there, playing a thrash classic, unfiltered and in your face. Oh, he didn't need someone else to play the lead for him either...

They did wake up dead when I seen them two weeks later I seen Metallica, even with their multimillion dollar budget they were no where as tight as mega
Metallica has NEVER been as tight as Megadeth; they couldn't because of Lars' lack of effort. Not throwing stones, just saying that Lars (who's a great business guy and a great arranger) is no where near Gar, Nick or Dirk's skills. My only real issue with him is that for the longest, he wouldn't even TRY to learn the songs and get the dynamics and breaks right...He seems to be doing better on this tour.
Metallica shows/setlists are more loose to the hip. Probably so they can allow more audience interaction. Megadeth is more scripted to be tighter/closer to the studio versions. Depends on what you prefer from a live show.
Need to do more of these Older Kick Butt MegaDeth songs at the shows.. Their Play Sets have been so boring...the last 3 years... Let's go Dave!!!...Do more of the Older stuff!!! Great Upload..thanks!!!
wow he really bent that neck far it sounded like a Floyd like on some of his jackson and deans though he’s said before god created whammy bars for those that don’t know how to solo
But doesn't it come more natural?) We got to give metallica some credit here. The four horsemen sounds more melodic and overall right. Mechanix is a bit too fast.
He's getting better. Sounds twice as good as he did last year. I'm not sure if he'll continue to improve the way he has over the past year or so, but even if this is all, I'll take it. At worst, he still sounds like Mustaine to me.
I saw him play with marty at wacken. He really is improving, i didn't believe it, but he only missed a few notes. With all the energy he puts into it, it's really awesome.
Props to Dave for doing one of these old "dirty" classics even if they "conflict" with his spiritual beliefs/convictions. That's MUSIC conviction. Owning up to your catalog no matter what. Unlike another 80s metal madman who "found God" (or whatever) in recent years, and consequently refused to do half the old catalog cos of how lewd and "anti-God" they were... I think he may have lightened up on that a bit and some of the old classics are back on the roster, but I'm not sure. It's just lame to let "that superstitious nonsense" affect the music when it need not. It's just a song, a song that made you infamous and a poster child for the PMRC's most hated ... own that legacy. Have y'all figured out who I'm referring to yet?
@@IzaakCha7 Nope. Blackie Lawless / W.A.S.P. He refused to ever play Animal anymore, along with other "vulgar" tracks, but long-time live staples like Chainsaw Charlie that could not just disappear from the sets, got the PG lyrics treatment. Totally pussified. I'm just glad I was able to see W.A.S.P. live in 2004 before he went all religitard.
@@viper0097 Now course not, but hes 60, joints are far from the same, already fine that he still playing, and not get drug addicted and died like all previous megadead drummers
Lyrics: By the last breath of the fourth winds blow Better raise your ears The sound of hooves knocks at your door Lock up your wife and children now It's time to wield the blade For now you have got some company The horsemen are drawing nearer On the leather steeds they ride They have come to take your life On through the dead of night With the four horsemen ride Or choose your fate and die Oh yeah yeah You have been dying since the day you were born You know it has all been planned The quartet of deliverance rides A sinner once a sinner twice No need for confession now 'Cause now you have got the fight of your life The horsemen are drawing nearer On the leather steeds they ride They have come to take your life On through the dead of night With the four horsemen ride Or choose your fate and die Oh yeah yeah Time has taken its toll on you The lines that crack your face Famine, your body it has torn through Withered in every place Pestilence, for what you have had to endure And what you have put others through Death, deliverance for you for sure There is nothing you can do So gather round young warriors now And saddle up your steeds Killing scores with demon swords Now is the death of doers of wrong Swing the judgment hammer down Safely inside armor blood guts and sweat The horsemen are drawing nearer On the leather steeds they ride They have come to take your life On through the dead of night With the four horsemen ride Or choose your fate and die Oh yeah yeah😅
@@brandt1730it's the same song Metallica just slowed it down because kirk couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Dave not a knock on kirk either he's great just stating facts
Alota smartass remarks about Dave But without him This song doesn't exist PERIOD and I suppose you are all in bands who are wayyyyyyy more popular than megadeth 😂😂😂😂haters are HILARIOUS
Lars has a bunch of songs played at that tempo, and faster... are you from Mars? Not only that... The Four Horseman is a much better version and much more known/preferred.
@@bobabooey4537it’s just another stolen riff from James , three albums later without mustaine they were still stealing his riffs and it’s only preferable because it received tons of radio promotions and air play and top end recording production and while Lars can play kick and snare somewhat fast his drumming is beginner skill level I could shred him his stuff on justice was his best and most technical but his drumming after the black album is only a small cut above “ the ramones “
@@kryptic9056 That's not an argument. Metallica have tons of songs that they don't play live. From St. Anger, Load and Reload, they only play a couple out of each of those albums. But they CHOOSE to play the Dave songs, even to this day. They are not obliged to lol.
@@HeathenDance The Dave songs are still Metallica songs. Just because they have however many others to choose from doesn't mean they're obliged to do that either. They're fun and energetic thrash songs that bring a lot of good energy to a setlist, why wouldn't they play them?
@@christineblack4654 The idea of james singing this is to improve vocals while maintaining daves shredding. Lars's drumming really wouldn't be an improvement
@@kortsari675 I’ve argued that same point for years, but its just getting painful to watch now. Him stepping back would make it so they could way expand the setlist again. A lot of songs get axed because he legit just can’t sing it, from my understanding. A buddy of mine was in their road crew and he said Dave usually likes to keep the set similar because its easier on his voice and its easier to stay consistent, which I get, but… there are times now where literally next to no sound comes out when he tries some of this stuff even on “safe” songs. There really is no shame in at least sharing those duties. I know a bunch of people who’d do it for next to nothing.
Yea more like another stolen riff from James Dave told him not to steal his music and three albums deep into their career they were still ripping him off
I don't think it's ignored. Most Megadeth fans (including myself) don't listen for Dave's vocals. A lot of us are aspiring musicians and really appreciate some of the complexity of Megadeth's songs. Besides, Dave's voice has been shot for awhile, the throat cancer didn't help either but he's trudging on. No reason for hate, brother.
I don't think so. First, Dave is getting old, and he has to save his voice after being sick. Secondly, I don't think that the level of singing in relation to the albums differs from other musicians after so many years on the stage.
I wonder if Dave is trying to outlast Metallica, Megadeth are far superior in my opinion, I really want Metallica to retire first for Dave’s sake so he can have a win under his belt always in the Metallica shadow
Let it go, it is a 40 year old argument that has pretty much been settled between the bands. Dave/Megadeth is still producing quality albums and tour because they WANT to.
@@KlaustheViking Only Dave could truly answer that question. He talked about how Metallica supposedly "held him back" all these years a few months ago. I like both bands honestly. But perception is in the eye of the beholder on Dave's end. If that's how he truly feels, then I hope that one day he'll let the resentment go for his own peace of mind.
No its not. Don't you hear the lyrics for one are not the same at all from Four Horsemen ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GmraiHm_0fU.html
Dave (the singer and rhythm) wrote the song and riff, dave was kicked from Metallica and kept his work and many other songs/riffs in their earlier songs, this is all common knowledge
Dave could have broken all his strings and smashed his guitar and it would sound heavier than anything MetalliCRAP has released since 1990. One shit shingle after another. Even the new 72 Seasons album would have sounded better deleted. Megadeth has it's lackluster albums, Risk and Super Collider. But they still sound better than the shadow of what was Metallica.
Why do you talk about Metallica if you hate them? I hate liver but I don't go around eating it just to say how much I hate it and how bad it is. I just don't eat it lol. Get over it dude.
I was telling my friend exactly the same he ask if I listening the 72 season i tell him no I back at him when I do and I did I tell him dude wtfk is that same boring crap is just like one long song metallica is the shadow of what use to be
I know its Dave's song but we all know why he plays it at pretty much every gig 🙄just in case you didn't know. Literally 40 years later and still can't let it go.
