It's because in Metallica the leaders are a drummer and a guitarist who hates low end and in Megadeth they are a bassist and a guitarist who cares about his mixing.
@@empty_set_ What I find bizarre is that yes, since ...And Justice For All Lars has had a lead role and minimizes bass, but Cliff had a massive influence on Kill Em' All, Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets, and apart from the odd bass song like Pulling Teeth or Orion, those albums had pretty subtle bass.
+Ian Peralta well they are all good. From Al pitrelli,Broderick,Kiko...they all fits the profile for Megadeth...But Marty is one of a kind...no one beats him and i idolize that guy....
Marty is a very tasteful player. I've always appreciated that about him. I don't really want to listen to shredding if it's just a bunch of fast notes that lack context or melodic sensibility.
I wouldn’t want to (have to fight him) but probably would have to because I would critique him on how he talks to the crowd. Totally weak pip-squeak compared to GnR, Metallica, or Pantera. Sings good here though I’d say.
I think whatever side of the fence you sit on with Metallica/Megadeth (and I used to go see both bands) you would have to say Dave is a hell of a rythmn player
Peace Sells, Master of Puppets, Among the Living, and Reign in Blood were the soundtrack in my car for my 16th year. Of course I kept some Van Halen and Ratt in the glove box for the rare occasion we got some girls to go somewhere with us.
Dave looks like he's at his best, incredible line-up and his voice is on point. He's totally having a blast playing to fans that are eating it up. Great show! So glad to see this footage.
@@JoeyArmstrong2800 rust in peace might be more technical, or complex, or just heavy, but there’s just something about peace sells that makes my brain melt and freeze at the same time.
Ok Dave your not supposed to make comments on your own music. Go back to your mirror and continue smelling your own shit. ( honestly I think he’s a great musician but he’s too self absorbed)
It still continue to this day to every metal festival. The problem is that the directors of the internal broadcasting crew don't know a fucking single metal song I guess, so they cut and change plans when they find it "interesting".
how the fuck do these people play these complicated riffs without missing a beat, live, in front of thousands of people, sweating their god damn balls off, WHILE SINGING? Jesus Christ if I try to say my own name while playing my guitar I fuck up.
***** my thoughts exactly. You see videos of them headbanging and singing and not looking at the frets and the get them perfect. I just take one look off of the frets and I fuck the rest of the song
***** Muscle memory and a hell of a lot of practice. When you only learn your own bands set of songs and it's music you write yourself it's easier but it still takes lots of hard work.
I definately respect your opinon friend, just dont necessarily agree with it :) dave is incredibly talented at ryhtym but my ears have moved away from power chord metal along time ago so to say the most awesome in my opinion is a bit much. But like i said a killer riffer for sure, his singing to me is not my favourite either but i like his work :) the best ryhtym guitarist in metal would be hard to choose but frederik thordendal towers of dave imo . Anyway horns up dude! megadeth is killer especially the marty friedman era!! Peace
wake up dead is one of the sickest songs made by megadeth. those spider chords in the beginning even blow away great guitarists like dave navarro when dave had dave m on his show. mustaine showed him the spider chord and he was at a loss for words, not only because of the difficulty of it, but the great metal sound it puts out
I have known about Megadeth and Mustaine my whole life it seems but never really gave them a chance... this video has marked a turning point. The bassist and the drummer are fucking monsters and the guitar work is FEROCIOUS. Holy fuck man.
I love the energy in this crowd. I regret not ever seeing Megadeth in concert to date having been a long time fan. I decided to do it in 2019 and my husband and son were eagerly on board ... but the concert was cancelled for Dave's health concerns (which is much more important than a tour) and then the COVID pandemic came the following year. I'll keep my fingers crossed that 2022 is a better year, and that Megadeth comes within a couple hundred miles of where I live. 🤞
Dave is really a impressive musician, not only for his creative genre in that moment but its more about his will to succeed, its really impressive for a "metal guy", look at every record from 80s to 90s to 00's to 10's always its looking to innovate his sound .
@@michaelg7904 Mate this concert was from 1992 and they were promoting Countdown to extinction during this concert so that means Rust in Peace was already released during this time
When i watched this for the first time i was high asf and at 4:47 I totally fell in love with megadeth bc they just sounded so damn good playing that spider riff and how all 3 of them + Nick were in sync headbanging 🔥🔥🥁
I was there Age 17. You cannot figure out the high temperature and dust. They had a ventilation system on the stage, but it was very hot and it's great how they managed to play that ferocious and tight. Great performance
I was there that day. The bill was huge, Iron Maiden were headlining on their Fear of the Dark tour, Black Sabbath with Dio and Geezer Butler second on the bill. Megadeth played third to last, but in terms of audience they were the real stars. When they played Peace Sells the whole crowd was moving in waves.
This line up has way more energy and better stage presence than any other. Peace sells line up had amazing musicians but they all looked like robots playing excluding Gar but Nick and Marty put in that contagious energy towards Dave and David.
xOWNAGEx1 that’s because they were all shot up with heroin. Both Dave’s were clean at this point I believe or were at least trying to be. Can’t be that energetic when you can barely move your body. But I still do agree with you, this lineup is the best they had.
