@@martinfalk8597 Risk had the best quality out of any record in terms of production, though it is not the usual Megadeth sound. As for Super Collider, both albums have some interesting stuff on them, not the usual Thrash but still good stuff if you want to look else where. Can't say the same for St Anger, because the album feels empty and boring to me, whilst Collider and Risk actually have some beautiful music on it.

I think it is brilliant. Mustaine continues to be full of ideas. This is good metal. There are a lot of newer bands that I love musically but for me the lyrics have to go with the music. That sounding like you're throwing up in the mic is really getting played. You don't even have to write lyrics. No one knows what the heck you're saying anyway. I like that the music has somewhere to go in Megadeth because the lyrics tie the albums together as the music changes every album.

This and Fatal Illusion sounds like United Abominations with better solos. It reminds me of headcrusher/sleepwalker type songs where they have long intros and repetitive riffs with mediocre pausing. There is no more distortion crunch in Megadeth, whatever these producers are doing they are making the songs soft and without feeling of any dread. Just switch to "Megadeth Holy Wars", "Megadeth In My Darkest Hour", "Metallica Ride the Lightning", or "Rammstein du hast" on youtube and you'll immediately hear the massive difference in guitar tones compared to this video. There's also a clear LACK OF anger, bitterness, sadness, and other emotions in these new songs. --- signed lifelong megadeth fan

Dave Mustain is a thrash metal genius and the way he constructs his songs is beyond this world. He is no wonder the king of thrash and still kick ass after so many years and still manage to write hits on every new album. This guy is truly a master in his class and an inspiration to so many out here and had so many obstacles in his path to overcome to be on top where he deserves to be. +Doug Brown I find it a bit weak myself. The animation is a bit tame, it doesn't keep up with the energy in the song. I've seen much better animated videos, like Disturbed’s "Land of Confusion", BLS’s "Concrete Jungle", or Metallica’s "All Nightmare Long".

You're delusional if you believe that. Besides the obvious Risk and Super Collider, Megadeth started moving away from pure thrash at same time as Metallica. Countdown to Extinction already had way more mid/slow-tempo songs and more traditional verse-chorus structures than their previous stuff. Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings also had way more rock-style riffs and compositions overall. I'd argue that Megadeth strayed further away from their original sound than any of the other Big Four members.

United Abominations, System has Failed, Endgame are all great albums and way better than what Metallica has written in metal since 1991 ( which is really not saying much tbh, Load, Reload, St.Anger and Death Magnetic are not hard to beat lol ). Not to mention the quality and creativity on Dystopia blows Hardwired out of the water, which is a rehashed Kill Em All with the Black Album sound lmao.

+Nihil Quest Each to their own, I get your description though.. I don't know man I quite like it, its the most modern sounding Megadeth thats for sure. But thats what they want I think.. They don't want to be a band that sticks with an old mix type for to long.. Like the last 3 had a more classic hard rock sound. Sneap did the same though I think those two albums suffered from loudness war syndrome. They've had so many different style of mixing at this point.. Its kind of neat makes them an ever evolving band. Others should take note because I could list of many large band outfits that sound stale after the 10th album that sounds the same.. Some of thats down to the writing.. But aloud of it comes down to the same mix.

+Luke Lewis I really like most of the albums Sneap produces, BUT if a band keeps him arround for more than 2 albums things start to sound the same and I lose interest. He has a distinct signature, but should be used only once
